What did you play today?

Got to Terra's final boss in Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep. The bosses in this game are so bad. Since they have no rhyme or reason for deciding they've had enough of you attacking, you're forced to be reactive so that you don't just get bodied by them deciding to counter on a whim. It's a pity, because some of the game's stuff is pretty good.

It's...also kinda the beginning of the downfall of Kingdom Hearts, due to being the beginning of the second arc. The Xehanort stuff feels like it jumped the shark, even if there's nothing wrong with it yet, and its writing is actually good.

tomb raider remastered. i'm enjoying jumping around guns akimbo shooting all these highly violent bloodthirsty animals that have been living in these ancient tombs for thousands of years. the level design is cool to look at. lara, too.

Elden Ring: Nightreign

I keep wondering — why is there always drama around difficulty every time a new Souls game drops?

First of all, let’s talk about the foundation of the game. In my opinion, this game makes zero sense to play in single-player.
Some bosses are blatantly designed for multiplayer — not necessarily because of how hard they are, but because of their structure: multiple AOE phases, enemy duplications, multi-target fights, and so on.
It’s clearly a multiplayer experience.
And that’s fine — I actually bought this game intending to play online, not solo.

And the gameplay loop? I absolutely love it.
It’s like an entire Souls playthrough condensed into a single hour.
It feels like Elden Ring on caffeine — incredibly fast-paced because of the timer, and you’re constantly debating your choices:
"Do I go here or there?" "Is this boss worth fighting?" "Should I take the Church of Marika route?" "What gear do I keep?"
That whole decision-making aspect is awesome, and I’m really into it.

So, what’s the problem?
Two things, mainly.

First, the matchmaking.
Someone had the brilliant idea to separate matchmaking pools for players doing Remembrances.
I don’t know whose genius decision that was, but it makes Remembrance matchmaking tedious as hell.
Granted, those missions are optional unless you want to fully complete the game, so whatever — I can live with that.

The real issue is... the balancing.
To everyone who complained about Shadow of the Erdtree being too hard — I’d love to see you try playing Nightreign in its current state.
You have no idea.
And I was one of the people who said Shadow of the Erdtree was mostly well-balanced, aside from a few rough spots.
But Nightreign? LMAO.

Now, the upside is that — at least for me — it’s not especially frustrating.
Why? Because reaching the boss on day three takes about an hour of gameplay, so you spend a good amount of time exploring and doing stuff instead of just dying over and over.
But... I can’t progress.
And let’s be clear — I’m not the only one. Tons of players are stuck.
I’ve put 10 hours into it and have only beaten two main bosses.
Just two.

It’s ridiculous. And if you thought co-op made the game easier — think again.
Bosses have HP in the billions, and their poise doesn’t break even if you pray in Aramaic.
According to some players from the Network Test, everything got heavily buffed because some idiot complained that the game was “too easy” during the beta.
Great job, morons.

These are issues FromSoftware could fix. Both are patchable.
They’ve already announced a patch to increase rune drops — but honestly? I don’t need more runes.
What I need is less tanky bosses.

I really hope they do something, because the gameplay is genuinely excellent. It’s such a cool online experience, and I’m really enjoying it...
...but I just can’t move past these bosses. LMAO.

I'm streaming Final Fantasy III Pixel Remaster and having a blast. It's so weird after years of playing Megami Tensei games to come back to such a simple rpg. No buffs or debuffs, just wack the bosses in the face. Story is just "go around the world and get new jobs from the crystals" but having the first continent be a floating island was really cool.

I love how Terra can't catch a single fucking break the entirety of the game. Agreed about his bossfight too, such garbage.

I dropped Castlevania: Curse of Darkness today because after 4 areas I'm already pretty bored of the game already. It's still hallway simulator like Lament but the maps are twice as big and you move way too slow.

Tonight I started Armored Core VI. It's fun, but a bit chaotic at times and I don't know what the hell to build

Finally got around to playing Tales of Rebirth. I know the complete fan-translation was released a few months ago, but hadn't found the time to play it until now.

That only leaves Tales of Destiny 2 as the only mothership Tales game not available in English.

I have been playing all day today, as well as the last several days, Tetris Attack/Panel De Pon as well as the Nintendo Puzzle Collection Panel De Pon. That game is addicting as hell.

Just started on PokeMMO so working through Hoenn first. Once I get four badges I'll start catching other necessary pokemon for later content like Alpha Pokemon.

a few more hours of clair obscur
sensual experience the sights sounds exciting mechanics and character builds you can achieve
gustave is so sweet

Beat Aqua's story in Birth by Sleep, and unlocked the final story. I'm not sure I'll bother finishing it. I'm not invested in fighting Terra's absolutely miserable final boss again. It's just too terribly designed. I just know there are two more phases after it, too.

Going through Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night as a newbie into the Metroidvania genre. Just felt like popping it up with my procrastination urges.

Along with the daily Azur Lane, SD Gundam G Generation Eternal & Arknights gacha grind.

Doom Eternal horde mode
I haven't played it since October of last year

Dug out my Mum’s psp. With permission I modded it an plan to play it well making the over 2 hour journey to class.

I recently discovered the Wizardry series, messed around a bit (barely into the first level). Reminded me of the PSP somewhere in the house, figured it would be really nice to be able to play these games well on the bus - leading to today, finished modding it last night and remade my party this morning.

Getting back on DOA: ultimate and unlocking all costumes and played Crazy Taxi 3 .

Need to get back on Breath of Fire 3 . But the grind for the master abilities and stat upgrades just were tiresome . ::badpc

Replaying Elden Ring. It's pretty good but there's some really stupid dogshit peppered in that sours me on it overall. Like some spots approach Dark Souls 2 levels of ass.

Crash Nitro Kart.
It's still bad.
My fingers hurt.

Grinding out the Godksin Duo. Terrible bossfight. From should be ashamed

I'm playing Persona 3 Portable with retro Achievement, I'm currently in June/Fuuka Recruitment Arc

Genuinely dogshit fight. Just sleep them (they're super weak to it) and free yourself of the misery.

Been lately on a DOA euphoria. And man ... the original Xbox games still to this day are great looker . And still smooth as butter and fast arcade goodness .

Unlocking all costumes and going after that towards the third game .
IMO , the best 3D-fighter series up till DOA 4.
