well, that might just be for "official" games. a few website were repeating that number and wikipedia has a page with a few differently sorted lists on there about it.

Is that not what it does? Like, it doesn't eliminate the odor it just adds a nice smell over it. It's like a new lick of paint.

Well, I suppose to be fair it does that too, most of them are also preventing sweat buildup to head off the smell in general.

to be fair to you both, that is what perfume is supposed to do. it is also why a guy would bring flowers to a woman he was courting: to cover up smells since baths were much rare hundreds of years ago.
deodorant stuff made to day can to an extent get rid of the smell, but most just cover it up.

yep. but thanks to deodorant and perfume and running water with various kinds of soap; we can spare the poor flowers from a terrible fate.

In looking it up, I think I've taken it for granted that most deodorants would *also* be anti-perspiration. Quite a few of them may simply be aromatic, go figure.

i think it depends on whether you apply it directly, like the roll on kind, or if its in a spray bottle.
the roll on stuff can be more efficient: smell good and help block or absorb sweat, but be of a weaker radius of noticeable scent. you might smell it a few feet away but ti get weaker the further the distance.
the spray bottle stuff is more singularly purposed: smell good. really good. it is also know for the far wider range for its scent. achieves its goal, but may not last as long, depending on potency.
you could always do like a gamer and use both for maximum coverage.

This might be *slightly* off-topic, but let's say it's something I learned some years ago:

The absolute worst funk I ever encountered in my life - and I've operated many a trash compactor in my terrible career - had to be walking into a Smash Bros tournament some years back. There was a convention, with the tourney in one large chamber and the general convention stuff with booths and a stage in other. We entered the booth area on walking in, perused around, very normal.

Then we crossed rooms to see what everyone was playing, and the smell - like a punch in the face - was so thick you could literally taste it. The air was just that heavy with sweat from the guys sitting there in a hot community center for hours at that point. I went to high school with a lot of farmers - they threw the best parties, tons of space with little supervision - and the actual pigpens weren't half as bad. The booth nearest the adjoining hall had set up fans; between customers and *that funk*, only one would linger, and the smell was winning.

We didn't stay to find out who won, is what I"m saying. I'm hoping there were survivors.

Isn't it bad on the long term to prevent perspiration?

If it was potent stuff, and you applied it non-stop while *also* doing something to sweat profusely? Yeah, it could be. Generally you wouldn't worry about applying anything while doing manual labor or a workout though, you take a shower and then use it.

yeah, but you are intended at the end of the day to rinse off and get cleaned up. a couple of hours wouldn't be harmful, but if it was a couple of days or more; that would create some health problems right there.

Although I kinda dislike when people put too much Axe or other of the same kind because it smells like changing room more than before and I feel that some are using it as a substitute for shower when in fact you're supposed to apply some after one...
