It's gotta have a half-decent story though unless the gameplay is fairly epic. Good luck with it. ( It doesn't really if you just want to get one out and improve next time)

Maybe give the game a little bit of in depth plot chemistry without getting too philosophical if that’s the way to put it and for whatever type of genre you plan on making the game (From what it sounds like to me drama) there could be a bit of overlapping comical or joyful elements within to maybe not make seem likes it’s too much of what it is. But all in all, I can’t wait to see or get more of a touch of whatever you have up your sleeves. Because this all sounds like something I’d very much enjoy

and the game is not based off of Earthbound, it’s based of One Shot and Deltarune

Hmm IDK about that but since I played Craftopia I had so much fun with chatting with NPCs that even animals by typing your message and AI answers you by being in the character lol. If this had used properly it will evolve RPGs. So you won't have to choose dialogue options, you can decide what to say as much as how tabletop RPGs are. This is the way to develop real RPGs lol.
