What are your gaming translation white whales? Games you want to see translated but feel it'll never happen?

Theres a Puyo Puyo rpg-like game the youtuber whoisthisgit showed once, theres no fan translation for it

Didn't we already got this game in English for the Switch as Seven Pirates H ?

For me it would be Sigma Harmonics for the DS, Text in this game is displayed vertically making a fan translation to it, impossible.

I love the music of this game.

deSPIRIA for the Dreamcast - what a fascinating premise and gorgeous and spooky art style. Would really love to play through this someday.
I have good news for you a fan translation for this game is already in the works.

I don't have a Switch.

There were 2 white whales for the PS2 that i've wanted translated for the longest time.
One happened in 2020, with Super Robot Taisen: Original Generations.
This is the other that still needs to happen:

Just a few I can think of:
-The Dragon Ball Z Super Butoden trilogy on Super Famicom. There are patches but they're incomplete.
-Godzilla Kaiju Daikessen. Yeah another fighting game, but I'm surprised it was never done.
-The Romancing Saga Trilogy. I believe the first game was finished. Just need the rest.

The romancing saga games have been translated for a while now officially, there's even a pc version of 2 and 3, and 1 had the remake, i've heard 2's remake is more different.

I have a lot I want to see translated one day, but the one I think has the least chance of ever being given any attention is Yaku: Yuujou Dangi.

It's a horror visual novel with an arstyle that I've been obsessing over for years, it reminds me of Hideshi Hino...
Also this thread has a lot of cool looking games I've never seen before, maybe we'll get out white whales one day all of us.

Wasnt Hino involved with that game?

That one's been on my list too, that artstyle is really intriguing, always wanted to play it, hopefully it's exoticness will make someone take interest in translating it someday.

Thought I'd add a bit more to this thread since my list is very long haha, But I'd love to see the Kamaitachi no Yoru series translated someday (I really hope that's a little closer to happening since x3 got a pc port released on steam recently) and Sengoku Turb for the dreamcast! Odd little game with a super barebones 3d artstyle that I adore, this one is fun.

Still, I would like to see the entirety of the original games translated. Maybe even port the remaster text to them.

I mean that's fine but the pc and newer consoles versions are literally the same games with better resolution for modern systems.

As for more white whales, i think someone mentioned it but i'd also like to see the el dorado gate games for the dreamcast get translated, but those are difficult.

Tengai makyou namida as well.

El Dorado Gate is another one. Truthfully, I don't know much about the games, but the Amano artwork and being an RPG alone is enough for me to want to play them. The weird release schedule it had, and releasing in seperate volumes sure was something.

There are a handful of others like the missing Megami Tensei translations, especially something like Ronde which most people probably don't care enough about to bother with, but I can still see them maybe down the line having a translation, especially with the release of the G-MODE games. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly Persona: Anomalous Tower Chronicles had been translated. Fantastic game.
Same thing with King's Field Additional I and II. I'm not exactly holding my breath for them, but I also won't be entirely surprised if a translation were to pop up one day.

-Kaze no Densetsu Xanadu I and II (PC Engine CD)
So sad that the translation project for those games seems to have come to a halt. The people who were working on them are still active, but they have lives and other projects. For sure one of my biggest white whales and I pray a bit each day to play them translated one day :P

I honestly don't think I could fit them all in a single post. And that's not even including the ones that have partial/mediocre translations, which are still mostly unacceptable to me.

I'd like to try the 3ds version of Dragon Quest XI.

It was never translated into English. There was a fan translation in the works but when they released the S version the translation project was dropped. The 3ds version has a bunch of differences from the newer version that makes it worth trying so it's a shame the fan project was never finished and likely never will be. Square's also probably never going to localize this version either.
