What are your favorite Yu-Gi-Oh archetypes?

For me, Witchcrafters!

I love following their story through the cards, and that little bit of mystery with Rilliona and Madam Verre, and their playstyle of tossing spell cards and recouping them. Definitely not powerful, but super flavorful and fun! :D

I wrote a thing, giving all of the Amazoness their own personalities and stuff at one point, cause it made using the deck even more fun if I thought about them actually fighting and stuff. Good times man.

I'm a total sucker for utopia and it's adjacent stuff like zexal weapons. They're just so straightforwardly cool and strong with both their effects and looks, Ray V being a personal all time fav.

Cat powah! I have had many unfortunate matches against Purrely; Witchcrafters and Triamid can’t out the Towers Cat.

They are super unique! Also one of the only deck that puts more spells in the graveyard than Witchcrafters. It took me a while to grasp what was going on, but then I figured out she was piloting the different mech suits.

Amazoness was one of the first archetypes I tried when I got Legacy of the Duelist! :D It felt a little disjointed, but I thought they were cool and didn’t care. THEN I had that friend who paid way more attention to meta deck design than me and showed me the strategy of suicide bashing the opponent with Amazoness Swords Woman. It’s like old school Mikanko! I love it! >:D

On personalities for each card, that reminds me of a friend who was playing a YuGiOh DnD game. I never found out exactly how it worked, but you had set decks and had to find cards in the world to upgrade it, and your character had a story that linked to your deck somehow. It sounded super cool. :(

I always like the kids who were kinda goth, but like, Yugioh was really their main thing.
Like, they were down to make fun of it and even the other kids who played, but then had like $800+ of cards and would destroy. They all always had those Invader Zim wrist sweatbands, too. Every single one of them.....

I love the Gishki archetype as I'm a sucker for Ritual Summoning though nobody really uses that these days due to how slow it is plus the lore behind them being essentially dark arts practitioners and they would go on to found and then give birth to the Nekroz.
