I generally prefer romhacks that restore censored or removed content like in Breath of Fire IV, and the ones that replace English dubs with the original Japanese voice acting in games like Valkyrie Profile: Leneth.

I've been having a blast with Mario Kart romhacks lately so I'll mention these:
Mario Kart Double Dash Plus
Mario Kart CTGP DS
Mario Kart Wii Retro Rewind
Hell, I learned that MK Wii has a HUGE modding scene, as if it was a PC game by now. People add in all sorts of stuff to it. I've seen the Suzuka and Tsukuba real race tracks, adn chibified cars from Initial D be modded in.

Does Zelda LTTP randomizer count? It's a website that used the Japanese version of LTTP to create randomized games, and the set up allows you many different options, like having harder enemies, randomized bosses, randomized layouts and items.
You could even set it up so you couldn't beat the game unless you knew glitches you could exploit. Or not.

how neat
strange i remember a few years ago looking for well made donkey romhacks, and i could not really find any
maybe i was not looking hard enough
the concept of kremlings revenge as a remixing of the original game's levels is very cool
say do you think these rom hacks would work on original hardware? it would be super swag if i could play them on my old television

usually, some hacks will list if they work on original hardware on the page where it was originally hosted. some hacks do work on the original console, some are completely incompatible. i have one hack that would instantly crash a gamecube if you attempted to play it on there. it requires far more power than the purple lunch box could ever produce.

Oh, I see.. Well, if that's the case they just have to make a way for it to load everything. It could probably be done, but a PC as far more reliable for that kind of issue.

Colossal Cavern is a Pikmin 2 ROM hack that puts all vanilla objects in one massive cave. It first appeared in a showcase that featured the increased memory option that later versions of Dolphin 5.0 offer, and was released a few months later. Colossal Caverns is recognized as its own game...

you might know more about the workings of dolphin better than me, so you might know what exactly it is doing. i just went with what the readme said.

yep. all 201 treasures, at least 1 of all 81 enemies and bosses [there can be duplicates], at least one of every possible room type used for dungeon layouts and i think it includes the random plants that you see in levels which are not counted as part of the level, but their own separate objects. this made it very hard for a randomizer to be made because the perplexing pool has a ton of objects loaded in all at once and sometimes the randomizer prototype would crash instantly if it loaded up that level.
