Ive always been a big fan of games that are very grind heavy to the point where the grind is the point of the game.
Games that have that sort of....MMO loop, stuff like phantasy Star portable, Monster Hunter or God Eater.
Not just games that happen to have a grind but ones where the grind is the appeal and is the main focus of the games development.

So i ask, what are some of your favorite games like this?

Fate/Extra on PSP. You have to grind to complete the game especially if you use Caster as the main servant (something that I always do)

Dark Cloud 1 and 2 the weapon synthesis what this weapon next upgrade and what next evolution this weapon is I remember collecting gems stone to get the right stats to get that weapon line.

I put stupid amounts of hours grinding on Disgaea 5 when I first owned a Switch a lot of years ago. I can't do that experience again, but it was so beautifully absorbing. I loved dumping so many hours into that game, spending the hours as if bottles of alcohol in a bar just to upgrade my two favourite characters.

I think owning the Complete version on Switch at that time of my life made me genuinely appreciate the handheld features of the console. Every free second of time at home or not was put into it.

SNK vs Capcom Card clash 1 and 2 , Yu gi oh tag force 3 , Duel Masters : shadow of the code are great card games with an high grind factor to get every card and beating everyone .

The Harvest moon series , Phantasy star portable 2 infinite , Marvel Ultimate alliance 1 , Metal Dungeon , War of the dead , Metal max returns and Lord of arcans are grind heavy too .

I know you already mentioned monster hunter, but dos in particular is peak. Armor in this entry is upgraded exactly like weapons. Each armor piece has an upgrade tree and requires monster parts. You also cant just buy every consumable you want in this game. If you want mega potions, you're gathering honey to make them

For me i'd say Fishing Planet, it takes forever but when you gradually climb the levels you start getting really awesome exotics maps unlocked, massive salt water boats and fish, generally sitting at the end game, feels pretty nice too.

YES!?

Been playing so many grind heavy games lately. When your game time is over 200/300/400 hours+.... YES

Fatal Labyrinth (MegaDrive) is a game that i enjoyed a lot! 😊
Grinding is essential in it... and the gameplay is fun!
(Also, the Floating Eye emoji ::floating-eye is taken from that game! 🌟)

I'm not too much of a fan of "heavy grind" in games, but I've always been a big fan of Borderlands 2.
