Do you ever feel guilt while you're gaming?

When I say guilt, I don't mean guilt over your actions in game. I don't feel guilty when a shop keeper runs away from me in Fable because its an evil play through and I have horns.

I mean thoughts like "Why am I playing this," "I could be doing something else," "Why play X when I can play Y" etc.

This is especially prevelant for me with games I've acquired for free (The Repo, other sources, literal free games) vs something I've paid real money for. An example, I have a FreeMcBoot Fat ass PS2 rammed with stuff but then sometimes those physical games I spent a few quid on that might be worse games start singing my name. Another example is my Steam family library. 700 games are mine, 300 a friend's. Will I play em all? Ha.

It'd be interesting to hear what other people think about this or if anyone used to feel this way and overcame it

Nah, gaming is the escape hatch that lets me run away from the things that actually make me feel guilt or anxiety in real life.

It's almost funny how some random NPC always ends up paying the price for my mental release.

Well I am limit to seven gen and beyond I don't play 8th gen onward since I have a lot of games on old

Well it doesn't matter if I have one million sometime this games will be time capsule for example a time we don't have a Internet for one month because of things happen my stored download games come handy and play them we had fun out of it

Even they some games I might never play one but at least one of members may can play them.

This, because sometimes games for me have become a way to find joy when I had no way in real life to "open up" (because of various heavy family problems), and until now I still can't give up on games even if I could and I have to do other things, more important for me.
But at the same time it is a beautiful moment when I can play THAT game that's in my backlog and I find out is great, just within my expectations.

Controversially, this was me trying to get through Breath of the Wild. Just couldn't vibe with it. Luckily I was only borrowing it from a friend, though I did beat it and returned it safely.

I used to feel like this sometimes when I only played games and didn't really do anything else. Now I'm trying to have more self-control. I only want to play on Saturdays and Sundays, and during the week I want to do other things. Of course, I'm still starting small.

I work from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with about a one-hour break. Around 7:30 PM, I go for a bike ride near my house. I usually get back around 8:00 or 9:00 PM, then I have dinner or read for a while, and I go to bed around 10:00 PM. .-.

Well... that's the routine I'm trying to stick to. Sometimes I still end up playing on weekdays instead of waiting for the weekend, but I'm working on getting rid of that feeling of, "Why am I doing this when I could be doing something else?"

And about THAT... YEAH, I REALLY DO FEEL BAD. xddd

I don't really know what it is, but it's like in Undertale. I just can't bring myself to do the Genocide Route. Every single time I try, I end up killing Undyne and then resetting the game. ;-;

It's not because I'm afraid of Sans or anything—I’ve beaten him plenty of times in those online battle simulators. xddd

I don't know... I guess video games affect me emotionally. It's the same with Telltale's The Walking Dead. :,)

I always try to be a good-guy Lee and help as many people as I can, because that's the kind of person I like being. And whenever I'm a jerk in a game, I end up feeling really bad about it. :,v Even if I'm just roleplaying as an asshole for fun.

The only guilt I get is why dont I play more games why do I have to go out and be part of this shitty ass world and it greedy selfish humans.
