Anime What are your favorite anime series?

My favorites are probably Ranma, Lain, Texhnolyze, Evangelion, Cyborg 009 and the first season of Sailor Moon. I liked a lot Yu yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshi and Saint Seiya when I was younger and still like their mangas, but I haven't watched the actual animes in a decade so I am not sure they stand up the test of time as there's a few mangas I love but absolutely detest their animes, like Yu-Gi-Oh!.

oh and dubbed ghost stories!
Fun fact, the Ghost Stories dub was by the same people who dubbed Duel Masters (the original Duel Masters anime on Cartoon Network)

My personal favorite is Code Geass.
Based on your all time favorites though is seems like you like sci-fi anime, maybe check out Parasyte the Maxim, or Psycho-Pass

hmmmm.........
can't list everything, but these three should be a good watch.
---------------
juuni kokuki (12 kingdoms)

(PS: the penis is very relevant and important to the plot)

Mardock's scramble

mardock scramble is a 3 part movie, and true to it's name almost every vital character is named after a type of egg. there's also a manga which is drawn by by Yoshitoki Ooima, the very same person who made silent voice.
(warning lots of nudity and gore)

The ones that spring instantly to my mind are...

Evangelion
Bubblegum Crisis+Crash
Ranma
Urusei Yatsura

And I'm talking about the originals here.

There are so many more I like, but those are the ones that spring to my mind right now.
I was going to post this exact list. Now I don't know what to suggest... The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya? Lucky Star, maybe?

Uchu Senkan Yamato

Cowboy Bebop would top my list. It’s just so effortlessly brilliant in how it blends genres, music, styles, stories, moods, characters, and atmosphere. I’m currently on my third re-watch, and every time I revisit it, I love the series more. Most shows get stale after three or four rewatches, but Cowboy Bebop just gets better.

Second place goes to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex and its second season. The story is so dense and layered. I watched it for the fourth or fifth time this year, and every rewatch reveals something I missed or forgot, making it feel fresh again. It’s like trying to piece everything together all over again, especially with how intricate the first season is. The second season is more straightforward but still amazing. The music, the visuals (especially in 1080p), and the German dub just hit perfectly for me.

Third place would be Attack on Titan. Watching it over the years was such an intense experience—I couldn’t wait for each season to drop. The story is what hooked me the most, though the animation was incredible too. It felt like true survival, with insanely high stakes. I was fully on Eren and his friends’ side. It gave me that same feeling I had playing the first three Halo games—humanity’s back against the wall, and it’s either fight to survive or perish.

Fourth place goes to Legend of the Galactic Heroes. 110 episodes of pure perfection. I’ve only watched it once so far, but as a student of history and philosophy, I was absolutely blown away. For those who have watched and loved it, you know exactly what I’m talking about. For those who haven’t, if you love the space battles from Star Wars and deeply political and philosophical discussions, this is the show for you. I don’t think there’s anything else like it out there.

Honorable mentions:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Kill la Kill
Darker than Black (Season 1)
Gundam Wing
Gantz
The Vision of Escaflowne
Digimon (Seasons 1 and 2)

Based on the videogame with the same name. The story it's about the life of Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowell and how power, personal beliefs and ambitions destroyed their friendship. The story is basically what happens when You combine the horror part of Resident Evil and the mafia part of the Godfather and the result of that it's one of the best anime ever made. One that without a doubt by the end it's going to make you cry.

I'd say i don't have a favorite, but I dropped everything when I heard the the next season of Rezero was coming out

Lately I've been feeling like watching anime more often and I need some new recommendations. I don't like any of the new releases these days.

My all time favorites are Naruto Shippuuden, K-On, Shakugan No Shana, Steins;Gate, Lain, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Durarara and Anohana. This is my MAL by the way if you want to check it out. What about y

I prefer old animes. Here are my recommendation.

Cowboy bebop, City hunter, Jojo bizarre adventure: stardust crusaders OVA, and Animatrix.

There are a lot of anime that I like, but my Top Tier, 10/10 anime (and I rarely rate something 10/10, even if I really like it) are:

Fullmetal Alchemist (2003)
Angel Beats!
Recovery of an MMO Junkie

To mention more shows that I like, here are my 9.5/10 anime (in no particular order)

Dr. Stone
Kaguya-Sama: Love is War
Magilumiere Co.
Otaku Elf
Uncle from Another World
The Ancient Magus' Bride
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 4
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Akame Ga Kill
Dragon Ball Z (Objectively probably an 8/10, but nostalgia brings it up several spots)

I could go on listing just shows I like (9s through 7s) for a long time, but I think I'll just keep it to the top 2 tiers.

My all time favourites are

Fullmetal alchemist 03
Hikaru No Go
Princess Tutu
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Rozen Maiden 05 & Rozen Maiden: Träumend
Ore Monogatari!!

Halfway through Paranoia Agent it’s super good so far

My childhood experience with it on concept of anime, Requiem for The Phantom within 6 or 7 EPs, I'm desperately glued on what I saw. There's no shounen series to makes me wanna watch more than Mafia show where the main character is utter based giga chad.
The character offer very diverse storytelling, for little me to handle grown up speech and trying hard to their get point. (Although the show tells itself for that; also it has censored some adulty scenes)
You know as a kid, watching a character struggle for survival and gave basic inspection how he could survive and what is necessary to give it up. Like damn... I thought this was a Cartoon channel for sake that the channel is literally name itself showing some badass shows and films. (Maybe pirated)
You know you should it like if you were into characters whose no chance but to do morally questional act and things to resolve for normie dude. Definitely 10/10 excellently given for EPs 1 to 6 or so.
