What 20 or more year old consoles do you think deserved better?

When you say deserved better how exactly do you mean it? Do you mean deserves more recognition or deserved a longer life span? Sega Saturn comes to mind as a console with a short lifespan but had some of the best games ever made on it.

I feel like you see people mention the Dreamcast way more often but I feel like while it was impressive hardware, the library is considerably weaker imo.

Absolutely agree with NEC PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16, Sega Saturn, SNK NGCD NGPC, Dreamcast despite having stellar libraries of games they're usually tossed to the side since they were considered 'failures' in certain parts of the globe, sales-wise or being over shadowed by their competitors at the time. 3DO Interactive Multiplayer - besides the disastrous launch, it has some the most left-field software and even had a small impact in Japan (a few games from South Korea as well). You have plenty of great games that debuted on the system, that eventually were ported. Also a few good PC games that were brought over. Then you get to the meat and potatoes; exclusive games that never left the console- some ahead of its time, some crude, others sexual, but above all bizarre and otherworldly.

the Vectrex seems like the odyssey console; but with a more interesting set up and design. it was probably neat to play on for a little while.

i haven't had much exposure to the atari era except through avgn; so it doesn't come up much for me. i did do some checking on it after learning about it. it looks cool.

He shows it in the star trek episode, theres truly nothing else like it, it cant be replicated through emulation on a tube tv either, its just not the same thing

It's not super fun. but it is interesting, and yeah i imagine it would be somewhat more fun, Playing the Actual Vetrex.

I Got the whole ROM Collection on my Batocera PC. but its more a Novelty than anything else

I Have one of these and it's damn impressive from the feel, to the sound. yes it's a Chonky boi. and weighs for a handheld a metric Fuckton.

Imagine being the kid who rocked this thing and sock-fuls of extra batteries in his backpack. Triceps and lats for days and could beat you down like a gorilla.

I Was going to put this in here myself @Nidoking And yes it was a Badass, if not for the as you said charging Cable. and the HORRIBLE Ghosting screen a Amazing marvel of Engineering that SEGA Pulled off for the time.

But it's a for mid 90s handheld, A Damn site better than a Gameboy/Advanced.

you had what was a Legit full home console in your hands and could play it anywhere <provided you had a outlet/a thousand Dollars worth of battery's.
Hell, Nintendo didn't do a portable Equivalent of the SNES <the GBA> till 2001.

Was it the best handheld ever? no.
Was it fucking amazing at the time? Hell yes!

If you ask me, the Virtual Boy, Sega Saturn, and Sega Dreamcast all deserved better treatment. All three are cool in my book.
