Well, looks like I'm not buying Pokemon Legends Z-A

It's okay to just not buy a thing if you disagree with a product or company. I haven't played a Pokemon since Moon and my life has gone on.
It's also okay to vocalize that one thinks something is bullshit and sucks lol

"What? Nintendo is being an evil, greedy, money-hording company and isn't everyone's friend?"

I don't know why stuff like this surprises anyone anymore. Honestly, no company is your friend.

If they could lock their content behind cloud-based walled gardens, they absolutely would. This is pretty much how everything is going to happen. Want your favorite Pokémon? Nineteen ninety-nine.

Want the evolution? That's another ten dollars. Oh, you want a shiny? Fork over fifty more dollars.

Did you let your Nintendo subscription lapse? Well, that's a thirty-dollar reactivation fee plus resubscribing, and you'll have to wait a week to use your DLC-paid Pokémon. Or fork over another fifteen dollars and unlock it now.

Honestly, it’s not just Nintendo. All game companies are heading this way. Give it another five or so years, and they’ll be as bad as mobile games.

The only way to end practices like this is to stop forking over the money. But that's not happening. ::sadkirby

Well, can't blame it on me, I haven't bought anything Nintendo related since the Gamecube
<Anything else was 2nd hand from a pawn shop/Thrift store>

Is it really a surprise that a company that regularly sells two or more iterations of the same game every time they make a game for no reason other than more money would do something like this?

A little below average since I see most of this franchise games getting full 80s (not that they're reliable. Pokémon Y has 88/100, which makes me laugh since it's one of the most boring gen IMO).

And yeah, I can see why this feels like a complete downgrade. Especially when we finally had a single-player experience can be fully complete without relying on multiplayer/HOME/whatever the hell TPC wants us to use out of their greed.

This said: I will still try this game very soon when it'll be released. I loved Arceus and feel curious on how the new battle system will feel like on gameplay.
I saw a few reviews scores, and they were mixed from 7s and 8s. Mainly because Arceus had a better depth of world building and exploration. While ZA is just a city, and nothing else which erases the exploration and world building altogether.

People still care about Pokémon? Why?

Once they announce Winds & Waves you'll eat your shorts and succumb to your nostalgic capitalistic tendencies. Nintendo always wins, baby.

This thread's growing a little long in the tooth.
Anyway I've turned to the dark side and started playing some Digimon (or light side depending on how you look at it). Stop bitching about Legends Z-A and go play Cyber Sleuth or Time Stranger.

Me neither (mostly bc idc for modern games)

I do still want to know how it compares to Arceus, but I'm not keen to pick it up and find out for myself. Feel free to make a thread or post on this one how you find it if you do pick it up!::thumbsupwario

I suppose the point has kinda been made hehe I suppose a mod has to do that, if a thread needs to, or should, be closed? ::thinking

I could've been interested in a game set in an urban area but when Legend Arceus was set in an Open World but this one restricts you to Lumiose City it feels like a massive downgrade.

I wish they made a game set in the full Kalos region as planned:

PS: With the first trailer I assumed the game took place in the far future.

I feel opening a thread about this game would be better. After all this is about boicotting a game rather than, well, talking about the gameplay experience.

Nothing wrong to also decide to play both (if not all 3 of them), like I did/gonna do. Got Cyber Sleuth on Steam (iirc from Kinguin) for only 3 bucks and played the full Time Stranger demo. All great stuff.

mfw I started this year Explorers of Darkness and still at half of the game. I really like it so far, even if I want Chatot to explode in pieces.

Last year I did Red Rescue Team and Explorer of Skies. I need to do the Wiiware ones then I'd tackle Gates to Infinity.
