It isn't, though. Do you think they just trotted this out without focus testing it and researching whether or not the market would accept it? The market and customer habits shape what a company does. IS greed.
That's why there are laws to prevent company's from doing "anything" to make a profit; there are limits to what should be acceptablefor a company to do.
Also, no one said they could do "anything" to make a profit. I said they exist to turn a profit no matter what. That isn't the same thing. Thanks!
