Weirdest cartoons you remember?

Cow and Chicken for sure. I love slapstick cartoons like Ren & Stimpy and Looney Tunes, so you would think I'd like it. But I just never got it as a kid and I think it's just a terrible show. I remember also a Disney cartoon called Brandy and Mr. Whiskers. That show was strange too. It was like Bonkers but ugly lol.

BRANDY AND MR WHISKERS! Dude, I loved that show in the 00s! I'm sure it didn't age well for my adult self, but I remember loving that, Dave The Barbarian and American Dragon: Jake Long. Didney had some good toons in the 00s.

And yeah, I rewatched a Cow & Chicken episode last week. Shtuff was weird and kinda gross. 90s kids stuff, am I right? Now, as for actually weird shows that are more obscure? Two come to mind.

#1? CatScratch. About all I remember of it is Pleakley's voice actor going "That's Japan", when one of the other cat characters talked about things he was looking forward to on a trip to China. Fun for my echolalia!

#2? Mr Meaty. Technically a puppet show, but it'd totally fit on Nick shows like Kablam(!). Two dudes working at basically modern Arby's in the food court. I remember the fat one got a tape worm, and there was also a nose fixing salon in another episode. The mall cop once ordered a boatload of food from Mr Meaty's once, the skinny dude said "It's like you're trying to feed an army!" and the rent-a-cop was like "Who do you think I'm ordering for? ...an army of one ;)"

EDIT: Oh yeah, @GardeniaSky! Speaking of Jesus cartoons, can you believe I had a bible-thumper phase (there is a difference between Christians and bible-thumpers BTW)? Yeah, this introduced me to The Story Keepers from the local Catholic station.

Good! other Brandy and MR & Whiskers fan, i never cared for the critics, i loved the show, Also Brandy was kinda cute when not being a Metaphorical b(#(%

Catstcratch... Okay, i only watched one or two episodes i recall, but for what i can remember the black cat was the best character

MR Meaty gives me memories but on the bad kind, that show made me wary of watching Nick, that...tapeworm...episode...*Shudders*

Mr. Linea is the protagonist of an italian cartoon, consisting of a little man who walks a virtually infinite line. The character encounters numerous obstacles on his path and often turns to the cartoonist to draw the solution to his problems.

The trap door, it was a british stop-motion cartoon broadcast in Magic Kids many years ago, it was very spooky to watch this at certain age:

I haven't watched those cartoons in years but I remember both of them.

"Return the slab or suffer my curse"
courage the cowardly dog 90s GIF

This one was super creepy to me as a kid.

Cow & Chicken was maybe odd since the mom & dad adopted a literal cow & chicken. I can't remember much about I Am Weasel, but maybe it was weird too.

It's a bit provocative, but I will never forget this promo for a [redacted] company from which there was fornication with a robot. Moreover it's etched into my memory more because I walked in on my parents watching it, and they invited my little 7 year old self to join them with open arms.

I love those shows when I was a kid. I'm thinking of rewatching brandy and mr whiskers again along with those shows you've mentioned cause I really wanna watch em again to relive the memories I used to have. This episode is now on disney channel and it's in high quality.

I got freaked ny the episode with the comic ads guy that ended up as one of the products

I think it was called, "Whatever Happened to Robot Jones?"
It was on Cartoon Network like 25 years ago, and then like a flash in the pan it was gone. Haven't seen anything about it since then. When I was little, I thought the art style was odd.

Mr. Meaty
Show was disturbing without substance.

I just couldn't stop watching for some reason. The puppet design was so weird and it felt like they were trying to make a less vulgar Beavis & Butt-Head. I liked Muppets so I figured I'd give it a shot. And it just became like puppet crack.

Does anyone remember The Head? It was this animated cartoon in the 90s. I remember watching bits and pieces of it on Canadian TV. The premise is this little imp demon thing living in this dude's head.

I remember it. There was another cartoon with some girl who could transition to some other world called The Outback. I can't remember the name. Liquid Television was another great MTV animation show. Unfortunately due to the fact that it was an anthology consisting of the works of multiple artists it's a copyright nightmare. That's why there's no DVD release or reruns. Beavis & Butt-Head got around it by removing the music videos. But if your whole show is animation you can't remove that stuff.

MTV also had a lot of cool bumper cartoons that played between commercial breaks and videos. Various animations of the MTV logo plus some unique animations. I wonder what happened to them.

And finally, does anyone remember The Brothers Grunt? It was awful. Intentionally gross and ugly. I didn't know that it was made by the creator of Ed, Edd n Eddy. That show was much better than this.

Cybersix is an adaptation of an Argentinian comic, animated in Japan, and aired in Canada. It follows a android/clone woman who by day disguises herself as a male literature teacher in a school for wayward kids. She goes out at night and fights the genetically engineered monsters of some nazi dude. My only real complaint is the overuse of stock cartoon sound effects killing the mood

This one that was on MTV back then Free for All | Serie from 2003

Probably FLCL, that show was just some guy’s acid trip or some shit.

I just went through Code Lyoko recently, it's a French anime-inspired cartoon about these kids that find a supercomputer in the basement of a factory, and have to enter this virtual world to fight a rogue virus that can infect their real world. I remember seeing it all the time as a kid, but it was slow and different to a lot of the other shows I watched so I'd switch the channel.

Now that I've sat through it, it's pretty decent for a kids show, and it apparently has this cultural significance for being one of the first French cartoons that made it big overseas. It was inspired by shit like Serial Experiments Lain, and The Matrix.

It has this mixture of 2D anime style animation for their real world, and 3D for the fight scenes in Lyoko, which is the computer world. Definitely the type of thing that could sell toys.

Seems like it has a big cult following as well, Researching I found a fansite that logs everything there is to know about the show, and even has a section that talks about news, which the most recent post in that was from November last year talking about the creators trying to find funding to continue the project.

It was kinda held back by the company that they pitched it to, because when designing it, they wanted it to be heavily story centered, which the company was afraid might turn off viewers that haven't caught everything and started in the middle, so the entire first season was just on some Scooby Doo monster of the week shit. And nearing the final season, you can tell they were rushed to complete it since they got cancelled. So the story is a bit of a mess.

There are books that finish up the story, and a Live Action reboot that changes some of the story bits, but nothing huge on actually finishing the story officially, which is why I think they want to continue it. The last episode deadass ends on them waving byebye to the viewers I shit you not.

All in all, pretty cool show, definitely recommend it to people who like kids shows.

Mission Hill. I remember seeing it either on MTV or Adult Swim. I honestly don't remember now, it was well over a decade ago. I liked the show's raunchy humor. My friends and I would get together on some weekends, drink a bit <Some would blaze up> and watch this if we were going to stay in.

I remember it being a very surreal and strange show. I really need to re-watch it sometime to see if it's as funny as I remember, or if I'm just remembering it fondly because my buddies and I had fun watching it.
