I think it's going to be a while till machines replace people at my job. I doubt they can program a robot or AI that actually tries or attempts to teach kids while waiting for all of them to actually learn something.

While true, a large portion of the workforce will be automated over the next 10 years, from lower wage jobs to higher wage jobs. Robots will replace lower wage employees, whereas AI will replace white collar employees. Factory workers and a lot of the service industry will be replaced by robots, Uber drivers will be replaced by self-driving cars, delivery drivers (FedEx, UPS) will be replaced by drone delivery, etc.

Machines doing human work is a thing since.... always?

I mean, back then people needed to do manual copies of books until the printer was invented (and caused one hell of a new age since it made a lot of people that did a living making copies of books angry and how books where easier to get and cheaper even for people with little money)

Not to mention the sewing machine (but this one got a better welcome, specially for the womans and their hands)

In short, this is nothing new and by the end will be just another reminder that humans most of the time create stuff so they can be lazy and dont do it themselves

That said, robots that assist humans with health problems are welcome

In regards to the room cleaning video, I see that and I get excited!
I plan to live a child-free life and as such, won't have offspring to burden once I'm old and feeble.
The potential of being able to avoid moving to a nursing home because I now have two robots that are able to tend to my needs, allowing me to remain living in my own home, is a very enticing prospect.

That said, there are other, more worrisome things that will come from having this kind of technology...
