Was was your favorite handheld console or consoles

Only 'handheld' i've ever had is the DS (mostly for a couple games as time-killers like sudoku and brain age.)

I've tried the Gameboy and Gamegear and PSP and.... they are all just too damn small with such a tiny screen...

DS, put a couple of flash carts in it and it's just absolutely jacked. I know the 3ds can do more, but it's so slow to jump into games. But honestly it's a real fight for top pick, the PSP is still amazing.

that's pretty cool. was it hard to do?
nope. it was pretty easy, you just gotta remove the battery terminals and part of the case, then solder two cables from the pcb, install the new battery and the new back cover and that's it. pretty easy! they sell those kits in ebay and aliexpress.

DS Lite, followed by PSP.

But now I love my Anbernic 35xx SP. I doesn't do DS or PSP too well, but GBA, Dreamcast, PS1 and everything below work great. And its almost as small as a GBA SP, so very pocketable.

Vita, it was my daily driver during college since it can do everything, watch HD movies, listening to music, drawing, calculator, browse the net, play all (at the time) of the Neptunia games in a single handheld is divine.
Do note I didn't have smartphone until very recently.

I of course have a nostalgic love for my GBC and GBA. But I absolutely, genuinely loved my 3DS.
Not purely handheld, but the Switch has become my favorite console of all time and I use it most often as a handheld.

My first was a Green Gameboy colour

But I must have spent thousands of hours on my DS Lite, that being said.

This little guy got me into soft modding, homebrew and otherwise jailbreaking my consoles.
I genuinely miss my PSP-GO.
I can't say the same for any other handheld I've owned.

I am a broken record saying that.

In "mayor" console side:

So years ago I had a seafoam green 2DS. I loved that thing.

The PSP is forever my goat. First time you really felt like you had a console in the palm of your hands, not to mention how ahead of its time it was with an online storefront, skype chat, texting, internet access and more. It was the perfect precursor to smart phones but with greater capabilities as a video game machine. I was fortunate to have several friends with a PSP who played various games I did so unlike with the Gameboy or DS lines I got to properly experience local and online multiplayer on a handheld!

Then there's the nostalgia with modding it. It's the first system most people ever modded and its wealth of homebrew opened my eyes to so much. It was the first time I ever emulated anything, first game I ever played homebrew games on, it felt like the ultimate piece of hardware for its era because it 100% was. I have so much love for the 3DS and Vita but the PSP was a once in a lifetime hardware event. It also helps that while console gaming was on a sort of decline in terms of quality the DS and PSP were still maintaining a constant stream of stellar software.

There will never be a system like the PSP again because it released at the perfect time and place in history to accomplish everything that it did. I truly feel sorry for people who didn't get to experience the PSP in its prime, there truly was nothing like it.

The DSI and Steam Deck. The DSI was the first handheld I ever owned. Playing games on it was nice, but I probably spent more of my time just taking pictures with the camera and playing around with the distortion and mirror effects.

My 3DS.

That system still has some of my favorite games on it, and I still go back to it. It helped keep me sane through a lot of changes in my life.

For nostalgia's sake, the GBA. I had an original GB, but wasn't massively into it, as I was more of a console gamer. The GBA was basically a portable SNES, though, so it had more appeal to me. Technically, the DS was a better GBA, but I played DS games on it more and it didn't hold the same nostalgia factor.

For quality's sake, an Anbernic does much better than any portable I ever owned.

still use my psp too ?

but actually I’m really loving my iPhone lately. I didn’t at first cause I couldn’t find games (mainly offline JRPG type stuff) that I liked and I wasn’t good at using touchpad controls, but I’ve been finding more games and I got the hang of touch controls. Plus I always have my phone on me anyways!
