Was was your favorite handheld console or consoles

gameboy pocket, game boy color, gba, ds, psp and ps vita.
and i guess my laptop. it's portable.

NDS becuse it played both GBA and NDS games.
PSP basicly same seaons playing PS1 and psp games.
PS2 one of the best console for JRPG lover like me.
Snes the system that made me a hardcore nerd "sure I played master system and nes" But Snes was the one that got me in to it knee deep. And it has soooo many great games.

3DS was my first handheld ever and I have a lot of memories with it. I also love the DSi and the PSP even though I've never owned this last one, but I managed to play some good games thanks to emulation!

Not gonna lie, gba, NDS and the psp are by far my favorite ones.

Yup, same stuff here. I never got a psp but damn, the game catalogue is so great, I got to know some hidden gems like the Hokuto no Ken game, I think it's worth to check it out. (If you want to, put the graphics on 4x or 3x that just makes the game look so much better.)

The DS Lite, hands down

Most played? DS Lite and PSP. My favorites would have to be the New Nintendo 3DS XL and Vita though. The 3DS already plays all the DS games and 3DS games, which are both really good libraries, hacking it just makes it better. You can play all the GBA games with a little bit of converting, it's even worked on ROM hacks. Good stuff. The Vita also makes a really great portable emulation machine.

The GBA SP, I had the misfortune of giving it to my little brother once I got a 3ds and the little brat sold it UnU
I mean, it was his but I wish we still had it

If I want to be cheaty my Steamdeck that can emulate. But console alone is the DS lite. GBA slot and great DS titles I never upgraded to the 3DS and why should I, there were still titles to collect.

Probably the PSP just for the features alone, even now I am charging it just so I can pick up Dissidia 012 again

I had a love-hate relationship with handhelds pre-current generation. Loved some of the games on them. Loved the various innovations that can with them, whether it was portable TV, or weird controls, or dual screens, or whatever. However, I hated the low resolution. Hated the endless weaker port-overs of games I'd just play at home instead. Hated the battery life. Hated just not having anywhere to play out of the home without some nutjob screaming "NERD" and possibly taking it even further. (Except for arcades, but they already had even better games there.)

But despite that, I think I'd have to pick the GBA as the one I liked most. I loved the SNES, and the GBA was pretty similar. Likewise, it comforted me while traveling via airplane at a time when I did that more often than before. (Many traveling gamers back then often said the best GBA frontlight ever built is a commercial airliner. They were right; the overhead lights gave it a backlight quality even if you were playing the notoriously dark Castlevania: Circle of the Moon.) I still think it has issues (sound quality, resolution, color issues in unpatched games), but it was great for its time.

999 in 1 bootleg handheld console is what I started with, but PSP and the NDS is and still was definitely the best handheld consoles. Wonderswan and Neo Geo Pocket is pretty underrated too!

The PSP for what it meant for the industry. It was the first handheld that could actually come close to replicating console level quality. That thing had like 4 Metal Gear games, 3 Grand Theft Auto games, plus others from Rockstar like Manhunt 2, The Warriors, and Midnight Club 3, Kingdom Hearts, and a ton of others. Not to mention the out of box modding capability that took off even before the thing released in the States. I watched a video on this not too long ago. It's still a favorite of mine and I'm still finding new stuff to play on it. Recent favorites of mine are the Def Jam port and Kurohyou, the Yakuza/Like a Dragon spinoff duology. Also gotta make a mention of Nazi Zombies Portable, probably one of the largest homebrew efforts I've seen for a console, still getting updates even 14 years later.

PSP Go was ahead of it's time ... that was really the definition of 'portable' for me
and just how controls reveal themselves when you slide the screen upwards ... was awesome !

Nintendo DSi in matte finish was great !!

New Nintendo 3DS as well had that nice super nintendo controller color scheme for the buttons was a nice touch as well !!!
