DON'T FORGET TO READ THE READ ME!

This is the PC port of the fighting game WarGods! A fighting game heavily influenced by Mortal Kombat and it very much shows when you play with its combat and fatalities that are named something else in this game. It's working great thanks to the patch made by Rich Whitehouse so thank you for that patch!

You can find his stuff here: https://www.richwhitehouse.com/

Enjoy!

In an alternative universe there is people arguing over War Gods reboot made in 2025, after the series long run of eleven entries

wow, this game was so bad. and now, after all these years it's even worse ;D

Also played this when I was young on the family PC. HORRIBLE but I'm still nostalgic for it. I was Kabuki Joe for Halloween one year

I loved playing this as a kid. Anubis is my boi and Tak can suck it.

Well Midway did develop Mortal Kombat so this is basically just that with a different name. Dunno why they done that tho. Did they plan to create another series like Mortal Kombat but this one didn't prove to be as popular?

I was a bit of a local legend with this game in the arcades (primarily because I was the only regular who consistently played it because it was kinda awful.) Mained Voodoo and shocked people with that voodoo doll fatality. Thanks for sparking that lost memory!

I know there are console and arcade versions of this game playable on PC through different means nowadays, so there is no need for a PC port. though. Also, the GL port, still 0.1, only supports MIDI music when the original executables support CD audio. I played this one on MAME though, years ago. Also the guy who made WarGodsGL, aside from the Jaguar emulator, also made BigInstinct, a Killer Instinct (classic) I & II PC port that also uses portions of the Jaguar emulator code, which is still in Beta but only available through his Patreon.

In the 90s, War Gods was dubbed the worst game on the Nintendo 64 and the worst fighting game ever.

It was very exaggerated and at the time we didn't know how to appreciate the beauty of a janky game in all its splendor.

Rich Whitehouse? The Jaguar guy? Neat. War Gods is very cool, such a unique graphics style in between 2d digitized and 3d. Kinda lowkey wish MK4 had used these graphics, it's more gritty and true to the spirit of the MK trilogy.

Remember to set your controls in properties after opening the game, playing on KB is... not great.

Version without videos and music? Original was whole CD.
No it has music and video. This is a rip of the CD with a patch to make it run on newer PCs.

Tested it on 3 computers and it worked fine.
