What’s the laziest/most boring game boxart you’ve ever seen?

Master System western boxarts have lots of pure CRAP boring as hell. They are so bad, you do not want to collect games for MS. Japanese ones for Mark III/MS are beautiful.

But Look this huge shit. Look at that!

The US version box-art of Forsaken 64 (known simply as Forsaken in PSX and PC).
A Great piece of art, made by some empowered and intrepid person, probably after learning how to do basic things in Photoshop 1.0 in its new and expensive PC with Windows 3.1.

It's almost the PERFECT digital piece of art from the 90s:

The half face in the foreground, the fake perspective, the young girl's fake tear showing the fake suffering, the RIDICULOUS "chewing gum fake tattoo" in her cheek which tells you she is a total rebel (maybe she even have another one in the other cheek!), the background in black and white showing HOW MUCH the planet is DEAD (or... "FORSAKEN"), and even the title... using a fake typewriter-based font. Holy CRAP. More 90s... and the universe would just collapse: You put a UFO there... and "ba-bye".


This is what we got in Europe. Also very 90s... but in the good sense. I always loved it.

I actually OWN this one.
It’s real bad. Like, looks like a bad poster for a Bollywood movie bad. And in this case, has the audacity to be the cover for an awesome game. This is one of the many misses Capcom has had over the years, but unless I’m mistaken, every region has this embarrassment of a cover. So we all, no matter where we live, can cower in fear of this horribleness!

European Final fantasy box art 7,8,9,10 and 12 all boring 90% white background with a special designed logo. Sure it´s simplistic but it´s boring and it´s lazy and honestly it says nothing about the game more than the title so if some one where totaly new to the series they would go WTF is this game final fantasy but it´t not bloody final if they have 12 games ><

I hate it looking at all the white minimalist is typical clean depressing hospital feel. As some one that´s been way to much in hospital I don´t want to be reminded about that shit. Give me color give me life not minimalist dead inside sterile hospital.

the title of the game is okey but the reason it exist was because Final fantasy could have been their last game they ever made hence final fantasy because it would be the final one. Then the name stuck and it works every one today know what final fantasy is so why change name.

it's ironic that this bit has stuck around, since it's supposedly isn't true according to the staff at square enix. you know, despite the fact that the head director would have quit making games and would go back to being a doctor and the company would have shut down. that was apparently unrelated.
alliteration was the main objective with the name of the series. it was originally fighting fantasy; but there is apparently a tabletop game over here in america with that name. it must not be very popular since the first time i heard of it was hearing about it while learning about the name final fantasy.

it also depends on what of packaging that the game comes in. cartridge games usually came in boxes, along with a manual, maps, and other stuff. ps1 games just came in jewel cases, so you didn't need too much art, and then everything went over to dvd boxes and that's when everyone decided on becoming lazy.
if it makes you feel better, some people out there do try to make their own box art for games. i made one myself a while back for my ff4 and chrono trigger psx discs.
