I was thinking this too when seeing the stream. It sounded almost like they were trying to sugarcoat events and re-paint its image as some weird tragically misunderstood tech. I assure you Big N, the VB torture sessions during console development were pretty well-understood amongst its staff

This Direct sucked, without a doubt. This announcement was the biggest surprise for me, but it's as lazy as everything else they're doing. Games aren't colorized, and you have to buy an expensive(?) accessory to experience them as intended. They would have been better of remaking Virtual Boy Wario Land, the 'only' good game released on the thing.

I would hope it's cheaper than sourcing the original + games in working condition, but the being tied to a subscription + a peripheral seems not worth it. To me, anyway
