i could be here all day about stuff Touhou music may have drawn from but the short answer is to listen to the first two Yellow Magic Orchestra albums

but more properly on the subject of VGM that resembles one another, i remember a bit of an old running gag was this song in Sonic 06 sounding like Flashman's theme from Megaman 2. in fact i could not remember its generic name, but searching "sonic 06 flashman" brought it up as the immediate top result
