Sometimes, if a video game is really good, the devs will offer you a pet in the game. Sometimes its for flavor and just stays at home, other times the pet is part of a vital mechanic or an addition to your party. So, share your favorite video game pets! If we don't see D-Dog or D-Horse posted 700 times this thread is a failure.

Well you can't pet pascal::star-war::star-war it disappeared after bossfight in house.
This thread remind me Nintendo dog (*forget it's name because I never had*)
I'm not a fan of pets but I like games let you have animals as pets.

MH Dos Poogie

I named mine "Babe"

Pet her properly, she leads me to free items and brings home good items; I've amassed more than a dozen Shock Traps and Farcasters (both awesome hunting tools) due to her efforts
Poogie the best, most adorable, beloved and pettable Monster Hunter companion. Truly the King of pets.

Although, I have also to mention how in other games you also get customizable cats and dogs, as your loyal Palicos and Palamutes to help you during hunts (or sit by and watch as you get smashed by a giant dragon and they forget to heal you)
iu

how can you stay mad at them, tho?

And, from one of my favorite MonHun titles, Generations, comes.... the Moofy
iu

who is a baby Moofah, or one of the absurdly fluffy and cuddly alpacas that the village of Bherna raises. You can also customize it's fur and put cute costumes on it, just like the Poogie!

I feel Legend of Mana and it's pets are worth mentioning.

With all it's intricate and extravagant systems and mechanics, it almost seems like too much for Legend of Mana to have raisable pets to take into battle and level alongside your main character and possibly also a second player.
Between having instruments, weapon and armor crafting, and having your own garden, a pet system included in the mix just adds so much to a game that already has a bit of everything; and that's not to mention Ring Ring Land as well!

So many options, so much potential in a game that lets you build the very world map itself.

you have to feed them an entire kingdom's armory but these little dudes can save your ass in lufia 2's ancient cave.

I was tempted to include Palicos but I realized that I treat them more as partners than pets

I don't expect pets to take care of me, but I can rely on partners to guard my back

How has no one posted this masterpiece yet?

omg Oddballz, Dogz and Catz!
I played the original Dogz a lot when I was a kid, I even had a Scottish Terrier that did different tricks depending on which toy I held and my mouse gestures.
I also learned how to fiddle with the files to edit your pet and create different races.

Technically not a pet, but in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp complete you can pick an assistant. I picked Daisy because:
1-) I like dogs;
2-) I have a two-color beagle named Daisy

Special shout out to Brown from Rule or Roses and Hewie from Haunting Ground. Two very good boys
