Video Game Original Soundtracks

Not sure if it's "retro" enough, but Assassin's Creed II - Ezio's family is basically the theme song of the whole franchise now. One of my favorites though. You can always count on them to spin it into the ending of even their modern games.

I have a thousand songs from games that i adore, and this one is one of them, the whole soundtrack for the Prince of Persia Reboot trilogy is amazing.

This is one of my favorite tracks from Warrior Within.

This is a bit more brisk, but kinda has similar vibe?
Akira Tsuchiya is a genius among geniuses, one of my favorite composers. I know his real passion was directing games, but I'd buy a whole console to hear a new piece of his in context. As Daisuke Achiwa put it in the sound test for Nelke, they're like a nonstop flow of ideas, but his incredibly idiosyncratic instrument selection plays a part too. Happy to be reminded of him.

It's not quite the same energetically but I feel like The Vents from Ecco the Dolphin hits a moderately similar style in terms of the water elements in both games. We all know water levels give some of the best damn OSTs around.
