IMO lots of video game novelization tend towards "schlocky" and "immature"... just plain
bad, most of the time.
This is a great
exception to that trend.
Focused, thoughtful, atmospheric.
She was evidently given complete creative control while inventing motivations and backstories for characters and events and, IMO, does so brilliantly. She, as the kids say, understood the assignment, and the source material full-well.
Well worth a read.
