What really helped me was one of its subgenres: Future Funk.

I discovered it in 2020, a pretty dark year in my life, and out of everything bad that happened, this beautiful genre was something I could hold onto. I still love it to this day.

The first album I listened to was CHEESECAKE+ by Lemkuuja:

I remember it felt so magical that it sparked my interest in music as a whole. Since then, I’ve listened to a lot of different albums and artists, and it’s made me realize how rich and diverse this genre really is. I’ve even been making and uploading my own Future Funk tracks on SoundCloud and streaming platforms for about 3 years now.

Even though I’ve been listening to other stuff lately, it’s still a genre I love, and it’s definitely my favorite c":

I am 100% sure "Enjoy Yourself" by Saint Pepsi is Vapour, but I like "Cherry Pepsi" better since it reminds me of Summer, and that's not quite the Vapour Vibe.
INB4 Is Coke okay?
In fact, Cherry Pepsi by Saint Pepsi and his entire album Hit Vibes are Future Funk tracks (Saint Pepsi is also known as the father of that subgenre)

Dunno about saving my life but I was super into it about 5 or 6 years ago when Soulseekanddestroy was uploading them like crazy. It was all Vaporwave and Japanese citypop from the 80s mixed with gifs from classic anime like Urusei Yatsura and Sailor Moon. It was a vibe.

joining in on this thread because i almost always keep vaporwave in my rotation during spring/summer nights... its warming up outside so its got me in the mood again. here are a few of my favorite albums :)

definitely still a genre i keep close to my heart even if my desire to listen to it comes and goes in seasonal waves.

Plenty of good stuff posted here. Just sharing the vaporwave documentary that's finally here.
