Okay this was explanatory, what are your white whales of untranslated manga that you hope to see a translation someday? Can be at least anything from the classics to the modern ones, but me? I think my desired ones are arabesque, tensai bakabon, obake no q taro, the silent service, ai and makoto, fuuma no kojiro, astro kyūdan, kaze no daichi, notari matsutaro, zettai Karen children, game center arashi, iga no kagemaru, haikara san ga tooru, nanako sos, and even tsurikichi Sanpei

The Mado Monogatari & Puyo puyo manga's (which seemingly might had been fan-translated at some point but now are impossible to find seemingly T_T;)

The only one I can think of right now is Ring ni Kakero, because I really like the anime, but it sadly skips a lot of stuff (episode 1 starts with the final fight of a arc) and it ends on a really bad way (and the "sequels" are Pachinko-exclusive, which makes me sad).

EDIT: I CAN'T BELIEVE I FORGOT ABOUT SUPER-CLASS G GUNDAM! It's a retelling of G Gundam, but expanded in several ways. I love G Gundam, so I would love to read this retelling someday çwç

Robopon was a series I wanted translated for a long time, and lo and behold, it did! Although, the person overseeing it seems to be struggling to find translators, so it's stuck in limbo with about half the series translated right now (nine months as of writing this). If anyone here knows a thing or three about translating Japanese, hit Him up on Mangadex if you feel like it (or the discord He has linked there). I'd love to see this series completed someday. It's not a paid position though, so there is that. It's also, you know, the Robopon manga, so if you don't jive with this artstyle...

Exoskull Zero was my biggest one since for years you could only find translations of the first volume, but now there's a team working on it (Albeit very slowly but it's better than nothing I guess). The most frustrating ones for me are the manga that someone started translating, and then abandoned, like I'd love to be able to actually finish reading Airmaster, Sadamitsu the Destroyer and Photon: The Idiot Adventures.

To answer the question though; for me it's: Alcbane, Shimatsunin and Kirika C.A.T.s

Tokusatsu mangas.
the saddest part of untranslated mangas (and other media) is the raws aren't accessible

The Parasite Eve Video Game Mangas. (Not to be confused with the Manga Adaptaions of the original novel, which are available). As far as I know they don't even have complete scans online, let alone translations.

I like delinquent and yakuza fiction but the English-language manga fandom is very otaku-ish in general so most of it is untranslated. So there are a ton of series. Hey Riki! (co-written by the author of Crows), Emblem Take Two, Heat (by the same team that did Sanctuary), all the QP spin-offs, Drop OG, Arakure Knight...

If we're talking official releases and not fan translations, everything related to Crows. Worst got three volumes in english and then DMP decided to just stop, sitting on the license.

Unofficial, there's a handful of side stories and stuff in that same universe that aren't done yet. But a lot of the translating has been done by one guy over the years, so it's not exactly like you can get mad about the gaps.

Heat has a fan translation but I don't know if they did all of it?

Great picks! I’ve got a few white whales of my own titles that are historically significant or culturally rich but still don't have full translations, unfortunately:

  • Ryū: Naki no Ryū - A psychological mahjong thriller that helped define the genre in the late '80s. Its tension and character depth are legendary.

  • Chōjin Locke - A long-running sci-fi epic with psychic powers and philosophical undertones. It’s a cornerstone of vintage manga storytelling.

  • Arabesque - A ballet-themed drama by Ryoko Yamagishi, part of the Year 24 Group’s influential work in shōjo manga.

  • Barom-1 - Proto-tokusatsu with transformation mechanics and monster-of-the-week chaos. A goldmine for genre historians.

  • Marionette Generation - I don't remember about this one.

They're at 12 volumes out of 17, but no new chapter in two years. And that was the third group to work on it since I read those first couple volumes back in 2011...

Ah, I see. Reminds me of One Outs, how there was a giant missing chunk of chapters for a few years there. Hopefully someone comes back to Heat!

I pray to the scanlating gods every night that someone gets all of Sukeban Deka translated.

Magical Taruruto-kun. I just want to know the full context of how degenerate the series prior to Golden Boy is, without censors and its full original manga glory.

Check the official manga site named manga planet, it got officially translated, but you will need to pay manga planet plus just to binge the whole manga

....then I lived under a rock discover that both the anime and the manga got translated, even officially for the latter. Wow. Tyvm!

...it's weird that in Italy it still didn't got translated, but oh well-

You know, I would like to see that too.

I'd also like to see all of Golgo 13 done, but it's such a wordy series and there's so many volumes. Even if someone started today, I'd likely be dead by the time they finished.

in terms of official translation, i would like to see Crows and Rokudenashi Blues in English.
overall tho, there is lot of mangas i want to see in english; for example Beshari Gurashi.

I'd like to read "Obake no Q-tarou", "Magical Taruruuto-kun", "Akazukin Chacha" and the entirety of "Sukeban Deka".
