Most likely, they came on thinking it was easy to get people worked up here and that they would do the usual reach around arguments.

And that people would laugh at their low effort shenanigans. They probably thought, "I'll insult someone and get a laugh" not realizing that most of us are pretty cool with one another and, for all intents and purposes, will stand up for each other.

The game is still receiving updates, including one that took place this month. The problems are still there because the backbone of the game is mediocre.
