I can't understand the concept of having a waifu from an anime. Are you aware that thousands of otaku around the world are jerking off to the character you fantasize about? I mean, some are able to fool themselves into believing that they feel exclusive love, but it's pure COPE.
Take Hatsune Miku, a virtual pop singer, for example. Thousands of people travel to see her, and you find yourself next to a guy who has tons of posters of her in his room and a dakimakura version of her. There's really no difference between that and people who chat with an AI version of an anime character. None of what they say means anything, because in reality, they're not devoting their time solely to you. That's the same reason why I can't get into games with romance options or dating sims. Imagine having feelings for someone who has repeated the same lines to everyone. There's no deep connection.
I'm willing to hear the argument that waifus are supposed to be an idealized portrait of the woman we want, but I just can't wrap my head around it because I'm way too rational. The only exception is those who manage to generate a personalized one via AI image generation by writing a prompt.
