My first (and basically only xD) Touhou game! I will probably check this out

Neat! I'm looking forward to seeing more. If the classic mode is actually faithful then that would be nice since getting the original to run on a modern system can be a little unintuitive.

Honestly a miracle that ZUN found the backup of EoSD loitering in his house after he said some years ago that the reason of no Steam upload for Touhou 6 was because he lost the source code.
I highly doubt that Rin Satsuki will be playable since she was scrapped early in development but this is also a double whammy since is the first time a numeral Touhou game outside of decimal ones (ULiL, AoCF and Goukyou Ibun)that a game is landing on a console so yeah. Big deal to see the game given a remaster and shame on Nintendo for putting Star Fox over this (But my bias is showing).

You mean that it was needed to detach physics from FPS because else you get to play like you are three cups into a triple charged espresso mixed with two energy drinks? But I guess time will tell.

I've read it TH6 was a blank slate to the series...

Anyway, I do like the ambience of the PC-98 games despite that.

Indeed it was a blank slate, and specially is covered by the absence of any Touhou games between the release of Mystic Square around the 55th Comitek and the 62nd Comitek (1998 and 2002 respectively) and the change from the arcade-styled gameplay to something more of its own that would take some years to get there by itself. Mainly graphically speaking since now it was on the 16-bit sprites with splash-art of the bosses drawn and appearing while using the Spell Cards that made sure that people was aware of their progress outside of beating patterns but still a bridge game in terms of gameplay. If I make some bogus information is just that I'm past my bedtime haha

No, he actually found a backup literally a month ago and he was working this year on remaking the whole game, that is one of the reasons why he said in twitter that he was concerned on his old MIDI tools not working in Windows 10/11

Spin-offs, the .5 games are usually fighting games (7.5, Inmaterial and Missing Power; 10.5, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody; 12.3 Hisotensoku is the exception; 13.5 Hopeless Masquerade; 14.5 Urban Legend in Limbo which is the first official Touhou game to EVER touch a console release for the Playstation 4 and 15.5 which is Antimony of Common Flowers) or scene-based games (Where you have to take photos of the barrages and take usually the tengus as protagonist: 9.5 Shoot the Bullet; 12.5 Double Spoiler; 14.8 Impossible Spell Card and 16.5 Violet Detector) and the oddball here is the game hosted by the nineball that Cirno is which is Great Fairy Wars (12.8) then we have Goukyou Ibun / Sunken Fossil World which is both the last game of Twilight Frontier before taking a long break, the first game to land on the Switch and the first game where we get to play with Flandre if you want that fact
