I thought the first overwatch was a lot more fun than 2
Also, Overwatch 2 didn't allow an artwork section on the steam page because they didn't want it to be spammed with hentai which is just really funny to me
My favorite character design wise is Tracer and Reaper
My favorite character to play is D Va

I loved Overwatch but it tried too much to appeal to tryhards/meta losers and it ended up stripping most of the fun. Those first 6 months of the original's release will always be dear to me.

I was really good with Dva.

I liked playing as tracer the most. Secondarily I used Mei and Dva. But I never got good at it then got bored of the game. I'm way more into TF2.

Lol lmao

Lost potential. They had all those awesome character designs and did nothing with them. And of course they also gradually stripped all the fun out of the game after launch. At least it was fun for a short amount of time.

Favorite character to play: Zenyatta.

i played it because i had a friend who liked it. i absolutely hated the game and im talking about the first one i seriously didnt like it. i dont like hero shooters but i seriously didnt like OW.

HOWEVER, thanks blizzard for the girls models i am very thankfu for them especially the brigitte one i wil forgive blizzard for everything if they keep releasing female characters.

The character videos were fun. They should have made a full movie when the game was still relevant.

I loved it a ton at launch. The first few months of the game were some of the most fun I've had with an online shooter. Then they slowly stripped away all the fun in the name of "Meta" and I slowly lost interest. The idea that I can't play the character's I enjoy because someone else already picked them? Miss me with that.

I really enjoyed overwatch on release and mainly felt that the game was aimless after it recycled the first halloween event. As for overwatch 2, the fact that the costumes were put behind microtransactions was a bummer as well as the fact that every skin they released really didnt match up to the quality of the skins in the first game. Not really playing it much these days and all I can really give it props is that the shooting feels good...

I share a similar experience to most here, I got the game 'cus I had some friends that played it, despite me generally not being into FPSes and not being much good at them either, lol, I had quite a bit of fun starting out, until I got to the higher levels of skill players which I just couldn't keep up, plus the whole constantly messing and changing the characters to focus more on the Esport/meta stuff than actually making the game fun. Plus also Actiblizz being a godawful game company too.

As for like a "main", the char I had more fun with was Junkrat, lol. I dunno what it is with grenade launchers in FPSes, but I can do some serious skill shots with them, like bouncing them grenades off the walls and ceiling to nail a guy on the other side of the map or what. While if you ask me to snipe someone, they could stand still in front of me, and I'd still miss them, lol.

i played it way too much until they released 2. i did stick with it for a while after but it was only getting worse for me. i will still reinstall it on rare occasions but it's usually gone after 2-4 games.

Oh for sure, the videos were great. They just never went anywhere with all the lore they were teasing. There was so much potential there. ActiBlizz built a great foundation and then kinda just sat and watched it print money.

Didn't play a lot of it, but friends convinced me to get it and I quickly learned that everyone holds the darkness in their hearts at bay until they turn on Overwatch.

I really enjoyed it and sunk a ton of hours into it when it first came out. Then they started patching the game and rebalancing constantly in an attempt to appeal to pro players exclusively, and I got sick of trying to relearn my favorite heroes all the time. I especially hated how they nerfed Roadhog and Symmetra. The Mercy rework was the last straw for me and I dropped it shortly after. My mains were Dva, Roadhog, Symmetra, and Mercy - and they all got heavy reworks.

Haven't even tried Overwatch 2.

Guy who bought Overwatch 1 here. I loved it. I loved everything about the first game. I loved all the heroes and all the updates.
Overwatch 2 isn't a new game, yeah we know, and I hate it. I hate everything about it. All the problems from the first game are STILL present in the major update from 2's release. It's still just as if not even more greedy than the first game now. The balance is absolutely abysmal and it feels like the balance team don't even play the game. I hate the new lore especially Kiriko, it all feels so boring and rehashed and again stuff like Kiriko's lore is so abysmal and retcons the entire Hanzo Genji storyline which was maybe my favourite in the first game.
In fact, Kiriko is everything wrong with the game for me right now. Unbalanced character, way too many cosmetics, the lore is abysmal, the character acts differently ingame, in her lore and in her art pieces. The devs have no idea what they even want these characters to do or who they want to be. It's all out the window right now.
Genuinely Juno is the only character in recent memory that was even slightly well done in my opinion in terms of character writing.
As for the gameplay, they've been slowly improving but it took wayyyyyyyy too long for them to realise that things needed to change. Unfortunately its too little too late now with the new competition. Not to mention it's competition (Marvel Rivals) is steadily dropping in player count too.
Its sad to see her go, really, but Overwatch is done. I hate to be one of those overdramatic people but it really did have a great run and for a while was the go to hero shooter. Unfortunately just like every other forced esport game it was bound to die eventually. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did. And I'm sure there will always be a dedicated playerbase that loves it and chases digital memories just like Team Fortress 2. I should know, I'm one of those TF2 players.
