”This game sucks! I love it!”

All gacha mobile games I've played due to my generally abysmal gacha luck. ::smirk1

Serious answer, probably most FromSoftware and SNK games really. I'm not that good at fast response so I need to memorize pattern to beat obstacles longer than most gamers. And I'm not a patient person so usually after losing about a dozen times or so I often will lose interest and abandon the current game I'm playing to go to the next one instead. Yet eventually I will come back and try finish them anyway because those games are just too cool.

Playing as Zero in Mega Man X6 is legit top 10 funnest experiences I've ever had in a video game. It feels like I'm CONTROLLING those scenes in the Star Wars prequels where cg Yoda starts spinning everywhere with his lightsaber I can't put it down

i was first tempted to post about X6 but felt it a bit of a gray area for me when i last played it on a QoL hack that kinda altered the entire flow of the game. just adding the option to exit levels without having to beat them first turned it into an oddly fun scavenger hunt for all the best powerups against the game's usual obstacles. either way though, it's still a surprisingly satisfying if uneven game to overcome

Helps it has genuinely one of the best video game OST's of all time

We all have them—games we’re convinced we hate and want to burn and NEVER want to play again, but in our heart of hearts we actually want to play them all the time because, face it, we love them!

It could be for all kinds of reasons; it’s ugly, it controls like ass, it whispers in your ear to smoke cigarettes, whatever. The main thing is that despite any and all of the reasons you can conjure, you still come back for more.

Do you have any personal examples of this phenomenon?
Some games in old emulator with translate never tell you where you should go. Some new ones too. Even if I lost for a week in them I still like them.

Xuan yuan sword gate of firmament

Janky controls
Janky movement
Janky battles
Janky cutscenes
But I'm addicted to this game,it has a nice story and I actively wants to know what happens next
More Xuan-Yuan Sword games NEED to get translated. Like, properly localized. Some of the old entries in the series look absolutely fantastic and they're only available in chinese. The same goes for the Legend of Sword and Fairy franchise.

Yes some of these games looks very interesting and I really wish they give them the localisation they deserve

DUDE I do not want to make this off topic to the gaming discussion but your profile picture as well as your banner goes WILD. Be active here and you'll be able to even stylize your profile to ensure that you'll be even crazier. Or you could support RGT to get those benefits. Anyways, I hope you don't mind this random message on this Thread, but have a good day!

Deadly Premonition is unironically one of my favourite games of all time. I am so tired of the so bad its good argument because its used to make something out to be a joke when that shit is like actually really fucking good.

It’s got really janky gameplay though so I’d say it qualifies on that front, but otherwise I agree. ”So bad it’s good” is usually a description of camp by people who don’t like camp, in my experience.

I don't play broken games lmao
Of course I played the wii version
They actually patched it a week into the launch. Regardless, I can say you weren't missing much anyway. Still the same tech demo with nonsensical level design with the addition of the most middling remixes in Sonic history. And this war crime.

Sweet Mountain Act 2 Wii (cool, awesome, chilling, aura)

Sweet Mountain Act 2 Ultimate (ass, ass, absolute shit)

Ok on a re-listen it doesn't sound nearly as bad as I remembered, was the extra detail always there, could've sworn it used to sound emptier. The replacement for the solo still sucks ass though, feels like the music is fighting itself now

I'm gonna ruffle a lot of feathers saying it, but Super Street Fighter II Turbo. I hate it. When vanilla Super appeared, I'd moved on to Fatal Fury Special, and SNK's offerings. So when I saw Super Turbo, thought more of the same, just faster, maybe a couple new moves for characters...

For years, I'd be playing it, and getting ripped apart by the CPU. I'd even turn down the difficulty. People be telling me it's you. "You can't handle the CPU? Git good!" Up yours to everyone who'd tell me that. Come to find out just a few years ago, Capcom purposely made the US version a lot harder than the Japanese release. I never knew that. That and a whole lot of things illustrated here I never knew.:
People watching me play getting pissed, "Man, you should turn it off, you're turned red and cussing up a storm..." Me: "SHUDDAFUCK UP! I'm ENJOYING my ANGER!!!! RRRRRAAAAGHHHHH!!!!"
