Thinking of buying the Nintendo switch just for Xenoblade Chronicles X is it worth it?

I was like wow this is peak hype, especially for me a mecha fan. About 7 years back more or less i bought a used PS3 console just to play some exclusives games i found by pure luck, i don't think is possible for decent emulation for Switch games and i need some recommendations from Switch owners which is the best console version?

The first Xenoblade game is the only actually good one, I love X but it's story is whatever. 2 and 3 are not real games, they are genuinely abysmal in storytelling, writing and characters. I'm sorry, someone had to say it.
If you really only want to play X and if you have a decent PC, you can emulate X on Cemu with mods that'll make it look even better than the definitive edition I would imagine. That's how I played it and even without mods I'd say it graphically holds up honestly.
With that being said, no console is worth buying for 1 game, and with the Switch 2 on the horizon I don't think buying a Switch unless it's a used one for cheap is worth it at all. Take it from someone who owns one, the console lacks so many quality of life features that other consoles have and it's services are so slow and unreliable that I wouldn't buy one unless it was cheap.

XC series are great but from 2 onward feels like they botched the localizations of the thing because it feels so off but there's been a community effort to delocalize the game over at gbatemp

Absolutely loving the game currently, but I'd definitely just wait for the switch 2 or whatever it's gonna be called. If you have a device that can run cemu though, it might be worth emulating the wii-u version in the interim.

If you're remotely like me (and many other players), once you own a new console you won't stop to just the one game you bought it for; at least, i bought PSP just for Dissidia 012 and Crisis Core, but after them I kept discovering other games. Same with PSVita, 3DS, etc...
If you don't care about playing on TV, you can find Switch Lite not too pricey on ebay (we got ours used on ebay, and the console was like new); also, I think Xenoblade will give you hours of gaming, once you're done with that you will probably already have a wishlist of Switch games :)
If you're 100% sure you will like what you see in gameplay videos, I'd say: YES, go with the shopping and enjoy it!

Please, be aware that for games requiring online (maybe this one too?), you must pay a subscription to Nintendo or else you're cut off from online features in many games. I've never had an issue with that, we only bought a couple of months subscription when we had a Pokemon game and wanted to exchange Pokemon to complete Pokedex, after that we haven't used online anymore.

I would no game in the world is worth blowing 300-400 bucks on a console for. I mean I love Demon souls ALLOT but fuck if im gonna blow 500-600 bucks on a PS5 just to play the remaster. No I rather not play it at all or I wait for Sony to get their heads out their ass and relase it for PC.

Which is why I hate Nintendo allot yeah yeah I get it they don´t want Zelda and mario and such shit on PC or PS5 or xbox. But for fuck sake make Xeno and Bayonetta be on other systems. The story is just nowhere near the first game. The characters are forgettable and the designs are honestly pretty lackluster. It's probably the weakest Xenoblade game in terms of story. 2 is horrible, but 3 does something worse, being average.

DEFINITELY! I know people say to wait for switch 2 but we haven't had any confirmation over anything and you're missing a lot right now. By the time switch 2 arrived there would probably newer games that would also get your interest. so I'd say get one while the game is hot. you can always trade in or sell your switch to get the new one and it's not like we have to always get the latest console release.

I'm playing X right now, It's good. If you don't own a Switch you might be better off emulating the games on a PC, all the Xenoblade games got 60fps patches (X doesn't have one yet); unless you want a cheap portable console.
Portability is great and you don't even have to buy the games, just jailbreak your console and sideload on the sd card

I agree with 3 being the worst one, the story is fine but I really liked the main characters, the gameplay is the worst part to me.

And taking this opportunity, I like these two games, not more than the first one but they have their reasons to exist. If you don't mind, I'd like to get poetic about it:
XBC 1: A game about a protagonist that can see into the future, teaching us that nothing is set in stone and we can change the future.
XBC 2: A game about many characters plagued by their past mistakes, and about a living blades that are immortal and will live forever with said mistakes, teaching us that we should forgive and forget and that our pasts don't define us.
XBC 3: C'est la vie... Life is fleeting and we should enjoy all the small moments in our lives, a game where our heroes are on borrowed time but even with such a small time frame to act, they change the entire course of their world and we should tell the people that we love, significant others or family, how we truly feel about one another, because we never know what fate has in store for us...

I wouldn't invest money on a console for a single game, I would rather emulate it, if possible.

The Switch does have a solid library tho, but since Switch 2 will probably be retrocompatible I'd wait do get it (or wait for the eventual Switch price drop).

You don't get your mech in Xenoblade X for a while, but that really makes you appreciate it when you get it. If you're not sure about that, and your PC is halfway decent, you could try the WiiU version to see if you like it.
Otherwise, are you planning on getting a Switch 2? If so, I'd wait for a Switch 2 and then buy the game for that instead.
If not, then looking up a refurbed Switch might not be a bad idea, especially if you're fine with jailbreaking it - like most Nintendo consoles, they can't patch security flaws faster than the homebrew community can find them, so you can do a lot with it.
