I don't know how it is in your country, but in Poland, you can easily buy a working Trinitron very cheaply. For the equivalent of 55 - 82 $ or 47-70 Euros
I have had the opportunity to buy both of those when they first came out, but passed them both up as they seemed uncomfortable and impractical to hold while attempting to play a game.

Most things I can think of that I want to buy. At least until I get another job. I have too many expensive hobbies (although I managed to get into Battletech for an exceedingly low cost with paper proxies) to support with no significant income.

Out of those things, the one thing I want the most is a retro emulation handheld. I really want one of those, I almost never want to play on my Switch. Or a hacked PSVita, that'd be pretty great.

Or a tank, like a fella here mentioned ::smirk1

One day I will snap and create the cutest most amazing book nook of my dreams.
Also the final fantasy set of magic cards, theyre so cool looking but so expensive.
And the pokeball statues that light up and make noises, I love them but can never justify spending 100+ dollars on one pokeball.
I love make up as well but holy heck I can never go and shop at Mecca except in my dreams. 100+ dollars for one special lipstick is WAY out of my price range no matter how sparkly it is.

What are those things that you'd want to buy, but simply won't because they are not what you need right now, seem like a reckless expense, or perhaps you are a little embarrassed by them? Trust me, I have been there.

Right now, I'd really like to hunt down and own an old-school MP3 Player just for the heck of it, even though I know that it'd be horribly inefficient, that it wouldn't give me nearly enough space as I would need to fit my oversized playlist on it, and that it simply wouldn't see much use outside of when I'm running and don't feel like dragging my phone around with me (or when I need an emergency USB stick, which seems to have been the default afterlife for many of those suckers).

I haven't even looked yet, because I can't afford to be that stupid with money. But maaaan, sometimes I really feel like owning one of those sleek little things again. The true "Cool Kid" makers of the aughts.

What about you?
i don't feel like buying anything unless i can repair it.

Also, a lot of clothing that's just... kind of too much to justify. I'd say tattoos, but I WILL eventually get most of the ones I want in that regard.

There's lots of other stuff, but most of it's stuff that is so expensive it wouldn't just hurt me to buy it, it would be borderline impossible for me to even get that much money together all for one purchase. Like jet skis, a boat, slaves, etc.

Slaves huh?::eggmanlaugh

Oh dude there's all kinds of stupid shit that I would love to waste money on but simply won't due to either price or lack of space or just the fact that I don't really need it.

I guess the first thing is I'd really really like to pickup the last few Virtual Boy games that I don't have and complete my collection. I really don't care about full sets and think they're silly, but I love the Virtual Boy and the library is so small, so it would be cool to have a complete set. There's only 3 games left that I need, but unfortunately they're very expensive so I don't think I will ever get them. Fortunately they aren't very good games anyway so I'm not really missing out on anything by not having them. I already have all of the good games for it.

This is going to sound really weird but I had an MSX computer before and I really liked it as a concept but hated it as a platform. But the systems themselves are extremely beautiful, so I would love to have a shell of one with a custom mechanical keyboard and use it as a shell for my MiSTer. Maybe I'll design and 3d print one, idk. There's some similar ones but I don't like them so much. A C64 shell would be cool too.

And this one is really silly but a private arcade would be awesome. I used to watch this guy kn YouTube who buys and restores arcade cabinets and he turned his basement into a home arcade and it's awesome. It would be so cool to have something like that.

Who cares if you don't use it much, if it gets any use at all than it could be fun if it's cheap. I bought an old iPod Mini a while back, it had 4GB of storage but I replaced the hard drive with 128GB of flash storage and installed a new battery. I love it, it's awesome. I don't use it so often, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. I mainly use it at the dentist (helps me relax) or on the train. And for what it's worth, I like it a lot more than streaming music from my phone and using Bluetooth headphones (god I hate Bluetooth headphones).

That being said, I also have a few cassette Walkman and I love them a lot. They're a lot of fun to play around with.

Still trying to get my hands into the complete collection, PAL Spain is a dream that will never happen tho

Yeah, we spaniards pay too much attention to PAL SPAIN copies of games lol. I have them USA version because I simply can't stand games at 50Hz, they give me headaches. I never cared the version of the game I have, as long as it is cheaper and it's 60Hz. Being said that, I happen to unfortunatelly own many PAL PS2 games because I had no other option. At least some of them have 60Hz selector :(

I get your point and i agree with how NTSC are just a plain better experience in general... but this is more kind of "collector's itch" rather than buy it to play it i know it might sound dork but it definitively falls within the topic of this thread :P.

Yeah, just because of that. I know spanish second hand market too well because I live in a big city and probably you also know how it is if you're in a website like this one. Learning english helped me to stay away from hooligans who "demand" games in spanish like it were a right they had to get, instead of doing some effort and learn english, which is very useful not only for videogames but for many other things. They even complain if the box is in multiple languages or spanish is not present. Buying games in US/Canada or Japan region is always better because you barely have stock problems, and many new games come with spanish subtitles as well.

I collect videogames since more than 15 years ago, and never felt the need to have the game in my region, I prefer to have the game in the region that benefits me the most, as sometimes buying import gets the game cheaper, or the edition is fancier. Or sometimes just for the cover, the one I like most. And I consider myself a collector in the same way as anyone else :)

Those Lego sets that make pictures you can hang up and any ones that are scenery or monuments of some kind. They're just so pricey and it's money better spent on something else.

It's $200. I've seen the real painting in person. And a print of it would cost way less. But I really like this.

I have a Microbrix version from Five Below. I'm sure this one is way nicer though. I can see the real thing in person. But It's too big to fit on the train. ::winkfelix

I have an orange cat. 😽

My dream house is a ranch style house with a catio (it's a screened in patio so cats can be safely outdoors). I want to decorate my house in a combo of art deco and mid century modern.

Keep playing the lottery. Any day now.... ::coolstafy

I have always wanted one of the slime controllers ever since the PS2 one came out, but I know I would never actually use it so I never bothered to get one.
I got one back when the PS2 came out, and can confirm: I used it maybe twice and it's currently in a cabinet back home. I don't know about the newer ones, but the one I have has a weird texture to it (I assume slime texture) that makes it a dust magnet and also hard to clean. Worst of both worlds.

As for what I'd wanna buy but won't: I'm kind of past collecting things, so it's pretty rare that I buy a thing just to sit around. But I've said for years that I'd love to rent a Ferrari and drive part of Pacific Coast Highway in California while playing Outrun music. The last time I actually checked, the rental was something insane like $3000/hr. I'd only need the one hour, but I don't want it that bad.
