This was made by the same team from the Ace Combat series, and it's based on an anime film of the same name. In this game you're supposed to hold the nunchuck with your right hand and the wii remote with the left hand. If you're planning on playing on emulator, map the buttons accordingly. I've found that control scheme E is the more reliable when playing with a normal controller like the Dualsense/Xbox controller, but you'll still have to adjust some stuff. The main menu requires pointer sometimes too. UNDUB Info: Patch by swosho Source: https://archive.org/details/the_sky_crawlers_ia_undub_patch Changelog: 2019-08-15 (v1.0): […]

I absolutely love Project Aces and Ace combat games, I own them all. Brought this straight away when it came out. Its awesome but the last level is a bastard. Nice upload.

a shockingly memorable game! i wasn't expecting much from it but it has moments that make you go "woah this is peak" and that's worth something. Control's are weird, but like that's part of the fun. it's actually art, what can i say

Solid game, treat the automatic maneuvers as analogue to the non existent in the setting fire and forget missiles in AC.

I wonder how it would do with a steam deck's gyro

Sky Crawlers is one of those movies that doesn't explain a damn thing (and you'll rack your brain trying to understand), but at least it's beautiful.

Just to add, the game supports Gamecube and Classic controllers. The problem is that the tutorial and control scheme options only give you the Wii Remote setup, so you need to figure out what button does what yourself.

Also when using Classic Controller while the control is pretty much similar to other Ace Combat games control it much more based on the portable installment, where the Yaw button is using left/right D-Pad with no way to change the button scheme in-game, you can fix it by swap the L/R D-Pad to the Triggers instead on the emulator setting, its make the L/R D-Pad unusable for menu control, but atleast you can use the analog stick to do the menu-ing.
