Maybe it will sound sacrilegious but this kinda reminds me of the Kyantol from the Shining series.

FF doesn't have many friendly non-human species as of lately...

Oh yeah, they're very similar. While i was looking them up (haven't played the Shining games yet lol) i've found this one. She's great

Maybe Square didn't want to mix too much the Tactics series like how they won't put Mana series stuff in FF despite the first one being named Final Fantasy in the west...

That's my issue with modern re-release of Arcade fighting games.

I understand that they're usually more arcade accurate yet the lack of solo content...

G-Darius at least got not only the arcade release but the PSX and an HD re-release on top.

Man,when i finished Actraiser last year, the city management was kinda awesome, then they dumped that on the sequel, and that first level wasn't a great introduction even to Actraiser 2...but then:

YEAH BABY, IT'S WAR TIME!, also little tip if any of you want to play, the scrolls of magic are used holding the attack button until the time icon changes for any kind of attack depending if you're only standing still, holding down, or up, or in the middle of a jump or flying, yeah it IS THAT GOOD!
