PS4 The PS4 is already getting outdated, are you going to switch to a PS5 or are we going to wait for the price to go down?

PS5 feels outdated IMO, even compared to the PS4 which has nicer trophy images, a better UI, and the ability to actually back up your saves on USB.

Oh yeah, and the PS4 actually has games.
'Actually has games' my eyes are rolling so hard right now.

Also hilarious that people had the exact same complaint about last gen. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

I can tell you a curiosity: my PlayStation 4 was my first video game. I thought it would last forever, but as companies nowadays want to make money without caring about others,It's getting hard for me to find games for myself that are cheap

And Switch 2 is almost that outdated because it's a little better than PS4 in terms of "power" lol.
Is a nintendo switch 2 even better than a ps4 genuine question as I don't think its that strong but maybe I am wrong.

My PS4 Pro has been in the closet since the PS5 released in 2020. I do intend on modding it at some point and installing delisted games, some VR games I never bought, etc. I do have PT installed on mine.

Switch 2's CPU wins for having newer technology and it designed to deal with how newer games require more CPU power while PS4 belongs to an era in gaming that CPU power was not needed that much. This is why developers would wanna ditch PS4 and release their games on PS5 and Switch 2 instead of PS4.

PS4, especially PS4 Pro's GPU "beats" Switch 2 in terms of raw power, however Switch 2 having modern technologiest makes it work smart and do better and more job with lower power so Switch 2 beats this round too.

As for RAM, Switch 2 have more RAM but it's slower, but Switch 2 has way faster storage device.

So when I look on the paper PS4 was designed for how gaming was back then that is not satisfactory for today's standards which is why new AAA games won't be released on PS4 and some old online games switching to PS5. As for Switch 2, on paper the whole hardware design is smart but it's also so cheap it's not ok to release today's AAA games on it. I guess Nintendo expected, for example, Capcom would release downgraded version of Resident Evil 9 on it or something and they would bother a lot for optimization to make it fit into new technology of making game render low resolution but it's upscaled smartly for better graphics quality but they would go for streaming route just like what they did with Switch 1 lol. So technically Switch 2 satisfies today's gaming but it doesn't satisfy how much it needs extra work has to be done on it and wasting budget and shit. I would rather release the game on current generation consoles instead of Switch 2 unless Nintendo would pay extra money.

In the end, Switch 2 does beat PS4, even PS4 Pro yet Switch 2 cannot compete against current generation consoles that makes its existence nonsense and making it bad decision to play new games unless you only care about Nintendo games and emulation via breaking the console.

I already bought a secondhand PS4 Pro with several games and two controllers included for about $170 in March. It will more than likely be the last mainstream console I own, it was never my favorite console (though it does have the best controller IMO) and certainly didn't win any favors from me in 2016 when my launch PS4 ate my copy of DOOM 2016 and died shortly after.

Next console I buy will probably be some FPGA based thing like the MISTER Multisystem, and I'd also like to buy some XReal AR glasses for my PC before then. As well as a second computer running a Linux distro, so I can take all the compatibility layers emulators and such I've heard work so well for gaming and try them firsthand. In fact, since I got my current PC I've barely touched my PS4 and kept it offline so I can avoid signing Take-Two's bullshit EULA when I play RDR II or GTA V. I dunno if the PS4 emulator has compatibility with those titles yet (the only one I know it supports is Bloodborne) and in any event I'm not likely to have a PC capable of running it for a couple years more.
