The normies are already happily paying $100+ for video games

GTA VI will probably be worth it though as its highly likely u will be playing it for years and its not like they put one out every year. i remember playing GTA V online for years and never getting bored - only reason i stopped playing is because my ps3 died.
I stopped playing after the atrocious Single Player. But that was back in 2013 launch when my big brother bought the game.

Sucks to be them. I'm gonna assume a lot of them have well paying or high paying jobs. Or they have multiple jobs to make ends meet. That's their choice, and I see no point in getting upset. I'm playing a bunch of cheaper games or games I got for free.

i actually enjoyed the single player mode a lot but gta online is just so good - i could play it forever , it makes such a difference when a full lobby of players are on , i spent my time alone blowing up as much as possible and then the excitement of escaping a bounty with everyone trying to kill you is such a buzz. i would say gta online is the only game u ever need - some of my best gaming memories was playing that.

I’m really sorry if this comes off as a bit insensitive, but every time I see you make threads like this; I can’t help but imagine Okarun himself talking like this, and it makes me laugh, I’m sorry.

We need to tell him that commas and periods exist in the english language for a reason.

Disgusting,I'll never pay that for bloated same as game's,I want fiction not reality,I want colours and mad characters,I want quirky GamePlay,I don't want a game that think's it's a film,I want games like ghoul patrol on the SNES,spyro, ect ect,get a ps5 and no space on the drive to play the digital version you just bought and had to sell your soul to get it,shame on playstation for making a magical experience into a mortgage based product,go suck playstation

Who the fuck keeps buying 2K games every year?

It's absolutely stupid, gaming gone crazy,I feel for you man, just been playing master system, some fantastic Brazilian games on it

Who remembers the days when games were $60 bucks? Now their starting to push $70 or $80 for just standard editions. Its ridiculous.

Luckily for me I have zero interest in any new games (except maybe Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, which I will buy in a year or two). Why would it when there are more games that I haven't played than I could in an entire lifetime. Yep, that list, that don't confront me.

Eh, i don't call them normies...
I don't want to use the term i have in mind for them! 🥛💰

Luckily for me I'm a freakyfreakfreakerson. I'm not going to pay more than $40 for a single game, and that is that. These publishers can go suck a bug.

Let the normies be free to do what they want. At the end of the day, they buy one or two games a year, if not just one title in the console's lifetime, and that's it.

If Sony or any other company truly believes they can live off them, let them die in peace. Every time a company shows I'm not their target audience, I just stop buying anything from them. I don't even get angry anymore.

I am profoundly confused, the thread title keeps changing

I'll never understand the people who buy the yearly sports game. The must've played that same thing 20 times already!

It's mainly a seasonal thing that coincides with the season of the sport, and the rosters at those given times.
It stops making sense almost immediately though since players in most leagues stay on for at least more than a year, which is where capitalism comes in and picks up instead. Publisher pushes for new and shiny product with newest superstar player on the cover with your favorite teams newest jerseys in-game and the newest licensed music, and the people who play tag along because of those incremental "changes" are still changes.

It's kinda weird though as you can clearly see that these communities have people who discuss which of the games were better or worse, due to these often small changes, and it's not always like the servers go down immedately when its successor releases. It's extra predatory nowadays since, with Fifa for example, you've got that Ultimate Team thing which really is just a gacha, where the stats of the cards are sorta based in reality based on the current season.

It's like it's own completely separate ecosystem of video games.

The easiest thing to liken it to is probably stuff like old Street Fighter releases, and how the updates were sort of treated as brand-new games but also not really at the same time.

The people I know who play Fifa don't actually buy every yearly release though, I think that's probably a common misconception, that literally everyone upgrades every time, but many people just play Fifa as a party game to bond and discuss the current football season with their likeminded friends.
