Dude, that's awesome! Not a game, but something hardware related. I have a New 3DS XL that i've been trying to fix. Left it for a month or so, maybe i'll get an idea pop up in my head eventually.
I thought about the tabless connectors on the board and took a closer look. The previous owner pulled them up so far that a installed ribbon connector would not make contact with the pins inside.

That one is the bottom screen backlight. It's okay although not 100% seated in.
The Home button and Microphone on the other hand were badly pulled up. You are not supposed to pull them up!

Can't push them down fully but I can put some tape on the ribbon connector (non-contact side), adding about 0.15mm of thickness to help push it onto the contact.
And hey, it worked! A salvaged and saved New 3DS XL. Yay.
Got laid off from my job and I'm going to go sell off my retro collection including consoles so I can pay rent and bills until I can find a job and not gonna lie it already really hurts :(
At least on a positive note my computer is good and when I get employed I can always rebuy the consoles and just idk get a flash cart or something just to save money on rebuying cartridges but still able to play on original hardware. I'm also keeping my GBA SP for now since I feel attached to it and whenever I get a new job I'll probably get that one a flash cart first before rebuying consoles.
I think I might be able to get unemployment but yeah I've just been blasting applications and even trying the agencies. Unemployment wouldn't get me through with bills but better than nothing. Just hoping something bites soon so I don't have to stress as muchIf you got laid off you should be entitled to unemployment, depending on how long you were there.
Also, do you have any job agencies near you? It’s the easiest way to get work, you just go in there, register with them and they send you out to places. You won’t be full or part time, you’ll start as just an agency worker but if the company ends up hiring you can apply and then you don’t deal with the job agency anymore. It’s at least a foot in the door and money for now.
Here's hoping you find something soon, man.I think I might be able to get unemployment but yeah I've just been blasting applications and even trying the agencies. Anything geared to helping keep the Genesis/Mega-Drive a live in the collective retro gaming consciousness is very welcomePersonally I've been getting into homebrews like that fifa 26 brazilian bootleg among other charming games for retro consoles such as pop n' whiz for the sega genesis.

No, as long as you use original hardware with it. That's like asking if using a SSD in the PS2 HDD bay counts as emulation, at least from my pov. Unless if you use a completely different system, then yes it is.Anything geared to helping keep the Genesis/Mega-Drive a live in the collective retro gaming consciousness is very welcome
So, here's a question: Do Flash Carts count as emulation? Was getting into a discussion with some people on another forum and they're pretty much convinced that it is. I'm fairly certain that while, yes, it is basically loading a file from an SD card into your console of choice, there's no high level trickery involved. Usually emulation happens on something that isn't meant to play it without proper programming
The GTA engine and its wonky physics lol
Congratulations! The GTA engine and its wonky physics lol
Anyways, good to see you again!
I think that you already noticed but i leveled up to 6!
Had you tried that glitch that allows you to ride these non-controllable planes?Congratulations!
I lurk a lot these days.
Anyway... this was fun to pull off.
And I could ride it right back xD
No! That's so cool!Had you tried that glitch that allows you to ride these non-controllable planes?
I mean like this
Fun fact: The 3D era of GTA before the HD universe was powered by the Renderware engine. The same engine that powered a huge chunk of the PS2 library from burnout to black among other titles and all GTA titles at the time except GTA china town wars. The GTA engine and its wonky physics lol

I'm glad! I wish we could move back. The reason it died out was because it was replaced by game engines like unreal engine 5 :/I know
I wasn't even born at the peak of Renderware manI wish we could move back. The reason it died out was because it was replaced by game engines like unreal engine :/
