Superhero Games

I was just going over my PCSX2 library and just remembered the THQ Punisher game, surprised no ones mentioned that here yet. It was a pretty good little shooter all things considered, save for some strange control issues and some kinda questionably balanced bosses. It really got the vibe of the character though, which to me is the whole point of making a super hero video game; it's all in that character power fantasy.

Getting Thomas Jane to reprise the voice role was a really good decision, considering this was hot after the release of his Frank movie, which lead performance wise at least is the best one. He really sells every one-liner, I actually hear his voice in my head whenever I read Punisher dialogue in whatever comic book.

I'm stuck in this game and i have to replay the entire level to beat Bushwacker, but i love this game, is a great mix of the movie and the Marvel Knights run by Ennis and Dillon. The classic arcade by Capcom is one of my favourite games of all times, the inclusion of villains of the second volume written by Mike Baron, like the Guardroid and Bonebreaker is a nice touch.

Punisher has been pretty lucky when it comes to the video games, but I guess there's really only a handful of them. Even the NES scrolling shooter one ain't bad.

I've played the two Spider-man games on PS1, and actually beaten the first one. I have never been a fan of American comics and I had no idea who Stan Lee was (he narrates the game).

The second one isn't horrible but it's not as good as the first one for sure. I don't blame you on not liking Western comics, they definitely can be an acquired taste.

I played the NES Batman recently for the first time and I agree, it's hard as hell. Batman's had a bit of strange go of it when it comes to video games really xD

My favourite superhero game is probably still Spider-Man for the PSX. Incredibly varied levels, fun boss fights, great cutscenes, memorable voice acting, cool unlockables. Even has fun passwords/cheat codes and tutorials. All the good stuff.

Never been too big into these but spider-man has been my go to videogame superhero since the psx to the modern Marvel's series. He wasn't too serious and swinging around and climbing on walls was like the coolest thing ever.

Worst game evar. People told me it sucked prior to me renting from Hollywood Video back then. "It's NOTHING like the arcade game man, you're gonna hate it." they said.
"It can't be that bad it's Superman. Come on..." Started it up.
"WHAT THE FUCK???!!!"
I was literally:

Went back, told them it was broken and got Shatterhand instead.
