not weird at all. Super Mario Bros. Deluxe was on Game Boy Color right before it. That was the first time the original Super Mario Bros. was made handheld in all it's full color glory. That was a big deal.
I think having a remake of SMW as a launch title would've made more sense.

Agreed. ALTTP GBA and SMW GBA would've suited the console better imo.

Also it's weird how SMB3 was the last Mario Advance games and that Yoshi's Island was counted in the mix (yes I know, it was called Super Mario World 2 but Yoshi's games are technically parts of the Yoshi series rather than Mario's like how Wario Land and Donkey Kong Country, being set in the same world as Mario's, are also separate franchises).

Yoshi's Island was probably in higher demand. That was the first time I played it. Freaking loved it!

I don't even know these games but their name alone makes what you said probably true because world is bigger than a land lol, so both games pretty much having the same name but their difference is one of them is "land" so it kinda means the whole point of the game is being the "less" version of the "world" one lol.

Donkey Kong Country (SNES) x Donkey Kong Land (GB)

To me, Super Mario 3D Land feels more like a Predecessor of Super Mario 3D World than a lite version of the game.

They're definitely cut from the same cloth, but I don't think this is a secret or whatever. They're made by the same guy who kept iterating on his design principles.

I feel like it’s a very generic and pretty boring game. It’s also piss easy. Probably the easiest Mario game ever.

The easiest and one with the shortest levels sometimes
