I'm surprised nobody has made a thread on what in my opinion is the quintessential farming sim, the one that catapulted the revival of the genre to the mainstream audience.

So, use this thread to talk about Stardew Valley! Share screenshots, ask questions, etc, etc. I'm a very new player myself but I'm having a great time so far, I love how you can take things slow but also min max as much as you want eventually.
(I will post pictures later maybe, I'm not currently at my home computer shhhh)

I consider an almost "partner" game to Minecraft: an extremely relaxing experience that's also productive (or at least feels like it).

... But it's not an online game, is it?

Online multiplayer was added a while ago so, kinda

I'm thinking of playing the game. Is it worth it?

I desperately want to get into it, but I always get bored the first few hours.
I think I just really need to hunker down and just muscle through the intial wind-up period so that it doesn't make me forget what I did inbetween sessions.

Same, they just don’t quite register to my brain. I just don’t find them relaxing. Maybe if they add a “kill 15 metal slimes” objective I’d find it more relaxing.

Pro tip: play Harvest Moon first, then jump straight into Stardew Valley and see how the (crippling) problems holding HM back were all addressed on SV, making it a much smoother experience.

I had the same problem as you two until I did exactly that and I ended up loving the hell out of SV by comparison.

I played a lot of Harvest Moon as a kid actually! I'm sure I'd love Stardew Valley once I get into it, I definitely see what makes it so good and popular, I'm just very bad at keeping up with certain games once I own them 😅

But... Did you know there's a wizard with his own tower? ;D!

Can someone give me some tips on how to start the game?

there are some cool pit mods for the mines, skull cavern and the volcano... 👀

Also, in regards of what Waffles said bringing Minecraft and HM to the topic... I've a slightly different understanding. This video summarizes it really well:
