Star Trek (To Boldly Go)

I'm secretly a big fan of Enterprise. Don't tell anyone.

Yeah, nu-Trek has been largely disappointing. I've been doing a rewatch of the franchise, catching up on items I had missed, and none of it has really landed. The best of it is probably the second half of Lower Decks and maybe the beginning seasons of Strange New World. However, SNW may have some good episodes, it's yet to have any great episodes, and I found this most recent season to be a step in the wrong direction. LD I grew to enjoy after hating the first few seasons, and while I think it's a fun show, it's also such a different genre that it doesn't scratch the same itch.

Besides the original series and the underrated animated series with the original cast reprising their roles TNG is my absolute favorite. I especially liked the reading rainbow TNG episode.

NuncaI've never watched Star Trek. Is it worth it?

Eu quase te enviei esses dois vídeos.
e o 1 acima

Sim, vale a pena. Star Trek: A Nova Geração e Star Trek: Voyager são ótimos para assistir à noite.
ObrigadoThank you for the suggestions.

Aliás, o Data provavelmente é fácil de se identificar porque é o primeiro que vejo com características próximas ao autismo sendo escalado para uma série. Ele também é um androide, o que às vezes me dá essa impressão.
EUI'm shocked, I discovered a character that looks like me.

Discovered a character that behaves like me. He wrote a full poem on cats. And he owns a cat in space lollll.

Cats are nice. I wish cats were real.

I actually do think that SNW has great episodes: "Ghosts of Illyria", "Spock Amok", "Lift Us Where Suffering Cannot Reach", "A Quality of Mercy", "The Broken Circle", "Ad Astra per Aspera" and "Those Old Scientists" to name a few. However, from "Subspace Rhapsody" to the third season, it becomes hyperfocused on trying to be the next Buffy the Vampire Slayer rather than good Star Trek, and it ends up losing its way.

Some episodes were written by Twilight Zone writers?

Forgot to post here, but there was a Star Trek parody event in Hello Kitty Island Adventure a couple of months ago. Just before the Halloween event, I think?

Any Trekkies here? Been a fan since I was super young and it was almost always on TV. I love that it's less about "seeking out new life and new civilizations" and more about the human condition
Yes, like you I have been a Star Trek fan since I was very young. I grew up watching it with my family and grew attached to the series as I got older.

I still re-watch a lot of the older ones. Star Trek with Kirk, Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, Voyager, even Enterprise. I re-watch the movies of both casts sometimes too.

As far as more modern Trek, I haven't seen much, but I have dabbled here and there. I've seen the newer movies where they re-cast Kirk and Spock, and they're okay, serviceable films, but I don't go out of my way to re-watch them like I do some of the others.

I saw the first season of Picard, but fell off waiting for them to continue it. Haven't checked back. Tried watching a few episodes of Discovery, but it wasn't doing it for me either. I haven't seen Lower Decks, but that's more of a humor show anyway that I know of.

And yeah, I know I'm reviving a dead thread.

Absolutely love Star Trek. I've been a fan since I was a kid. TNG and Voyager are my favorites of the bunch. Too bad the new Star Trek series is an absolute garbage fire. Oh well, can't all be as good as TNG, I suppose. And I'm really surprised this thread wasn't locked...

Damn it, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a necromancer.

Star Trek needs to be cancelled to save the IP.
