Yes, you read that title correctly lol. One of the most obscure titles, that was exclusive to Japan, and was developed for an expensive add-on that wasn't exactly celebrated by the gaming community at the time, AND was featured in the Sega Mega Drive Mini 2 (the JP model, specifically)... has finally been translated into English.

Ladies, gentlemen, and all living creatures alike, may I present you guys with "Mahou no Shoujo Silky Lip"!

Developed by Nihon Telenet (the guys behind the Genesis port of "Mugen Senshi Valis," "Valis III" and the Genesis port of "Ys III") and published by Riot, this is an a magical girl themed adventure game with some light RPG undertones that is structured like a TV series.

As a fan of magical girl anime and one of the 3 people who actually LIKE the Sega CD, this game was on my radar for an excruciatingly long time. The only reason I hadn't looked into it proper at the time was... well, it wasn't yet translated and my Japanese is very limited. That's going to change very soon.

The team responsible for this new fan translation is none other than the Supper team; the same people behind "Madou Monogatari" for Mega Drive and its Game Gear offerings, the Mega Drive version of "Sailor Moon," the "Galaxy Fraulein Yuna" games, and even the Sega Saturn port of "Yumimi Mix." These guys (SOMEHOW) managed to implement their FMV cutscene subtitles from their PCE-CD translations... onto the Sega CD. Just when I thought it wouldn't be possible to implent this technology on the Sega CD, these guys found a way.

Anyway, grab the patch here.

I suggested for this to be added to the repo through the repo curator chat. I can't add it myself, but one of the other curators probably will sooner or later. I'm interested in it too. Supper always picks good games to work on and their translation patches are always top notch

1) This opens the door for more Sega CD translations.
THIS!!👆

I especially want to see "Shadowrun" get translated.

Other than that..... I dunno. Maybe proper retranslations of "Lunar 1 & 2" + "Popful Mail" that outdo the "Un-Working Designs" mods.

*raises hand*

Do I make four? Or am I one of the three...? Either way, count me in amongst the group of Sega CD likers 🙌
Yeah, I've always thought that the Sega CD was over-hated. Sure, it was marketed poorly (especially in America), the FMV "games" aren't particularly great and a good chuck of its library is re-released Genesis games with various enhancements... Nevertheless, it had some neat exclusives which I can actually recommend, unlike the 32X.

"A good year for translations" says the old farmer as he sits back with his straw hat in his rocking chair chewing on a lone piece of straw after a hard days work content with the knowledge he did good and others like him who actually cares about the value of hard labor under the midday sun. - Lao Tzu probably.

I heard that the SEGA CD version of SMT 1 is the best version of that game. Illusion City also has a port there, too.

There was also a cancelled PC Engine enhanced port of this game. A prototype is floating around somewhere, with two different versions.
Featured in October 1993 Gekkan.

no one seems to have uploaded any gameplay of it to YT.

The incredible people of Stargood translations are doing so much amazing works of passion and love for the community! That the only thing left to say is, thank you!! Thank you guys, because this is such great news!! One more hidden gem comes to attention and you are making it possible for non native japanese speakers to experience those game wonders! Trully works of art! And also bringing us a TOP NOTCH translation in the process (just like the likes of Tengai Makyou Zirya) Once again, thanks brave heroes!! May the great Lord allways bleeses your souls and continue to bring health to your life! I am greatly greatfull from the botton of my heart!!
