Even Wii had a Netflix cd at the time, this is nothing impressive.

Remember when the Wii U had a social network, netflix and an exploitable web browser that could play videos on a standalone player? Now those were the days. 😎

I remember when my family first got Netflix. It was so long ago that in order to use it on our Wii (the only device we had connected to the TV that was even capable) we had to request a Netflix for Wii disc to be mailed to us. I remember how excited we were when it came. Netflix used to be exciting. Eventually they allowed you to download the Netflix channel from the Wii shop, which we did for the convenience, but for a while we had to put in the disc.

It's all rather strange in comparison to today where people were shocked that the Switch never got a Netflix app because it is an expected thing.

Did anybody else have the official Netflix Wii disc?

I don't think I ever watched Netflix on Wii. My excitement during that time came from watching youtube videos in its flash player on the Wii Browser 😄

If you got a modern TV to run the PS5 on, more than likely your TV remote looks like this anyway...View attachment 63183
Heck I haven't bought a toaster in a while but I'm pretty sure I could find one that comes with a Netflix button

There's a commercial on the radio for a cooking thermometer that connects to an app. It's supposed to give you the perfect temperature every time. Unless it also plays Doom I'm not interested. :loldog

Excuse me, I made 12 duplicates what nonsense are you writing here? I didn't do anything like that this is my first thread for Sony talk. I said I am not Dany28 what's wrong with you I can't believe it 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Wasn't the avatar you had before the sunflowers the same guy? Maybe it's some streamer and he's popular and that's why you used it. But I could have sworn they were the same guy.

i think the best move would be for sony to make a psp successor. would love to play my ps4 games on the go without the latency of cloud gaming

Just let it be and that's it. There is no need to make the story bigger than it is.

Lucky guy buys defective PS5 at a bargain price - can repair the part in a few minutes and now has a new console

While consoles are getting more and more expensive instead of cheaper, this lucky guy got lucky and was able to get a real bargain. In this console generation, device prices aren't trending downwards as usual, but upwards, and the PS5 costs slightly more today than it did at launch. So, of course, it's especially nice when we can snag a real bargain.

PlayStation 5 for just $170

Even used, a PlayStation 5 still costs around €300-400 in this country, depending on the configuration. Considering the console was released almost five years ago, that's a hefty price tag. The only consoles we can get cheaper are those with serious flaws or even defective ones.

Redditor lv-KillaWolf_vl also picked up a model and paid $170 for it. The problem was that the console always shut down after a short time. According to him, he was able to play processor-intensive games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales for about 30 minutes, and with less demanding titles like Fallout 76 , the PS5 managed a full hour. After that, the console simply shut down and wouldn't turn back on until KillaWolf briefly unplugged the power cord. After a brief investigation, he determined that this behavior indicated a fault with the power supply. So he cleaned the thing thoroughly and reassembled everything. And lo and behold – the shutdown issue was over, and he's been able to use the console normally ever since.

In the comments, people are mostly talking about how the power supply came to look so bad. Keeping pets and smoking are particularly frequently cited as reasons. However, placing the console directly on carpet can also lead to high levels of dust, as dust accumulates more quickly on textile flooring than on laminate or parquet floors, for example. If you ever want to open your console yourself to inspect and clean it, you should be careful not to jeopardize the warranty by breaking any seals.

my friend may sell me PS4 Pro for 40 dollars but 2 problems is the DISK DRIVE does not work and the it makes loud spinning Noise when it plays for a while. i wonder if it's worth to pick up and how much to repair it for.... (i kinda want a current gen system at my dad's place...)

It looks like the guy knew what he was doing. Honestly, I wouldn't dare to just open my Playstation 5 Pro.

Yeah thats what I mean. Like if you get burned because of dust built-up, does the warranty even account for that or would they just blame you? and besides that it just feels wrong not to be able to clean it from time to time.

That is the problem and I have experienced this once, when you open the device the guarantee is gone. Since then I have never opened a device again.

Yeah, consoles are super fragile these days and probably wouldn't take it kindly to being opened. That said, manufacturers need to start to account for dust buildup in the designs and having chutes or vents through which compressed air can be blown for the sake of maintenance, if you ask me.

Playstations in specific are actually well enough designed that it's not hard to get into them. The PS4 and 5 have had little sliding pieces to be able to clean the fan for instance. Xbox on the other hand? Nah, I'd rather keep mine intact and get someone smart to do it.

My recommendation is to get it. A broken Disk Drive is a very good excuse to use a SSD (bought mine for 40€ 1TB second hand a while ago), as using a PS4 without it is nonsense. The fan with noise is just because it should have a good amount of dust inside and you need to clean it. If you're confortable by opening and cleaning it with patience, this is your chance. Once cleaned, you can grab a small USB fan, attach it to the console and improve even more the air flow.

Paying a store to do this will make that PS4 not worth it, so only if you're confortable and have patience is the key.

One of my PS4 slim was rescued from dirt and broken case, and I paid for it 32€ two years ago. Now it's happy sitting under my TV :)

It's just from the fact that you repost these news articles. I'd say yes, it is considered as such. I don't mind though. I like answering these lol. Just try to put them in the appropriate topic threads.
