Fan Game Sonic Robo Blast 2

I fear no man, except the guy who can master Sonic X, this character is either absolutely broken or almost impossible to use.

I really appreciate the sprites of that mod but like with Doom I'm not fan of the characters that alters too heavily the game when the level design isn't made with it in mind.

I still have appreciated E-102 Gamma and Mario because they were different yet were fitting SRB2.

There is even a whole mod that is unbetable without this Sonic or Modern Sonic, since you have to beat Sam Speed in a race, if you are not as fast as Sonic X or Modern Sonic, you are literally softlocked.

Yeah, kinda sucks when this happens. Someone makes a mod with another mod in mind.

I'd personally consider it a flaw (unless said level is included with the character in a pack).

Same here. I disliked the idea, when I got the mod and I got to that part, I got stuck, went to Youtube... turns out I was softlocked, I needed Modern Sonic, Mystic Sonic or Sonic X Sonic. I was like "Why?!".

I'd relive the thread to talk about the mobile port, with a Bluetooth pad it really feels nice (albeit some light framerate drops).

I think that some parts of the game are a tiny bit harder with a pad instead of KB+M.

On a side note I'm still quite eager for the next big update:

A new update for the 32-X port of this game just came out!

I freaking LOVE SRB2! I used to play the old versions a lot, and when the game got updated to the newer graphics and "Mania"-esque style... I was REALLY happy xD

Truth be told, I was really bad at SRB2 when I was a teenager, I tried to play with just the controller and... I had that problem of "I can't move the character and the camera at the same time", and while I got quite far in the game, I never managed to finish it.

Funnily enough, what made me get better at playing SRB2 using a controller was Dark Souls. That game made me realize that I could just sign the actions to the shoulder and trigger buttons and leave my thumbs for the analog sticks. After this, I played this game multiple times, with multiple characters and testing out a lot of mods xD

Basically, I love this fangame and it will always have a special place in my heart.

To be honest I'm not fully happy about it because SRB2 was made with SSNTails' artworks in mind.

I also think that not every Sonic fan games out there have to be "Mania-like" in their art style or else they'd just look like yet another fangame trying to replicate a pre-existing one.

Even if it could be seen as amateurish it had its own identity

It being based on a FPS engine may be confusing to many who weren't used to those.

I understand, and I did like the original graphics to be honest, they are very nostalgic to me, the new style just makes me happier because I'm that guy that thinks "Man... I'm sad we didn't get Sonic Mania 2".

Yep. I'm a console guy, I didn't get to play FPSs growing up ç.ç
