I see that the Metarex Saga is called Season 3 in the US but where I am is still season 2 Japanese and 4kids have a different way of separating each seasons.

I have to ask this question here, I'm I the only one who considers themselves a Sega
fanboy ( I own a modded Dreamcast and SEGAGAGA for heaven's sake) that thinks sonic
Sucks and have never liked one game. Thank god my Genesis was packed with Altered Beast,
so I never had to own a cart of this blue abortion.

THIS is peak sonic game play? Or is it one of the the other games where you just press one button over and over and move nothing else? Sonic blows so bad I could never finish my Sega tower of Power . I ain't spending not one cent on sonic and knuckles.

Taking the worst game in the series doesn't retroactively make the previous games bad nor that it means that the next ones are as bad either, Sonic Colors and Generations are more recent yet much better than what came out in 2006. Thinking that this proves anything is kind of a bad faith argument imo.

So how can you tell that the games suck (which don't by the way for most of them)?

I'd also argue that think that the games are just "just press one button over and over and move nothing else" is a misunderstanding of the game design and level design. perhaps Forces is the only entry that could be technically the case yet is like an exception.

You've played none so you cannot give an actual list unless you are only basing it on other's saying.

At least we can be sure that neither Sonic 2, Sonic CD, Sonic 3&K (together or standalone it doesn't matter), Sonic Chaos/Triple Troubles, Sonic Colours, Sonic Generations, Sonic Mania, Sonic Advance 1-3, Sonic Rush/Rush Adventure, Sonic Colors DS, Sonic Generations 3DS, Sonic Mania nor Sonic X Shadow Generations will be in this list. Maybe some other are of varying quality but they are not necessarily junk either (either decent or fine).

I respectfully disagree, You totally missed my point. I do not need to touch, smell, play with or eat rancid feces to know what it is. A visual check with the gold old peepers is good enough for me. And I am drawing a parallel between said visually inspected rancid feces and visually inspected Sonic anything (I've expanded my scope). I think that’s a fair take to have, it’s a franchise with no substance (speaking as a fan), it’s carried solely by nostalgia, any time I replay the games, a lot is revealed between the cracks. I only collect sonic toys now.

However I must also agree with this assessment, there’s nothing wrong with disliking a franchise but there’s little to be gained from going into a thread that centers around it, in my opinion.

For me, while I have less favorable opinions on the games, I still have respect for the fans, the characters? the toys, the tv shows and the development stories behind the franchise, there’s still a lot of positive ways to interact with sonic.

Sonic 4 is more of a mish-mash of Sonic 1 and 2 since half of the levels are inspired by both games (Green Hills + Labyrinth Zone for one and Casino Night + Metropolis for the other).

Yet Sonic Genesis still had more zones and didn't rely on air dash/homing attack to move and the level design is still better.

Sonic Advance 1 is still the better variant of the original game.

I've finished watching Sonic Prime (since it's a fairly short series with only 3 Seasons of 8 episodes each
except the last one who only got 7).

Overall a nice show with some interesting stories but I felt like the third season dragged a bit too long when the battle in The Grim should've been part of the finale not the second half.

Oh that's easy to answer for me.
Although I hate Sonic 4 with all my soul. The Gameboy Advance port is still the worst because it takes the original, brilliant classic and destroys most of the gameplay with screen crunch & at the same time was used to celebrate Sonic's 15th. Sonic may as well have been given a birthday cake made out of shyte.
