A couple weeks ago, Kevtris over on the Atari Age Forums, who is also one of Analogue's hardware devs, got his hands on a 2020 unit of the Intellivision Amico and cracked it open to show what the near production ready hardware for the ill-fated fever dream of Tommy Tallarico would have been like under the hood.

It's official. Tommy Tallarico's reputation is in the crapper.

I heard that's a snapdragon 624, a low end chip from the last decade, it features some cortex a53 cores running at 1.8GHz, to put that in perspective, that's the same hardware arquitecture found on the raspberry pi 3 but running at higher clock speeds, it's also the same architecture found on my cheap anbernic rg cubexx, it's basically the stuff you could find on the sub 200 dollar phones from the mid to late 2010's. It should be fast enough to emulate most ps1 games, some n64 games and a few dreamcast/saturn games, in other words, it's not very good, even for the time.

Its wild that, before the Tommy Tallarico hbomberguy video, I only knew Tommy as the composer for the Earthworm Jim and Cool Spot soundtracks. Since I love the music in those games, I thought highly of him.

But man, after watching that expose, and learning how much of a compulsive liar he's been, I've done a complete 180 on my opinion of him. The music is still amazing though but I have to question how much involvement he really had with them, considering how much he has lied in the past.

I can see that. To be honest this video was the only hbomberbuy video I've seen. If his entire shtick is attacking others, that isn't something I would follow. But in terms of that one video regarding Tommy, everything he showed was there to see, not hearsay. It was quite a surprise to see someone lie so blatantly and so often!

Even on the Tommy Tallarico oof video, I heard that he admitted that he deliberately avoided acknowledging certain youtubers who'd been chronicling the Amico disaster because he disagreed with their politics and felt they didn't deserve attention so he stuck to covering stuff where he could use alternative sources without plagiarizing, which is very different from how Slopes Game Room did it with his 3 hour Amico documentary, where he had both Amico supporters & detractors doing cameo roles, regardless of how "problematic" they were.

The hbomberguy video is still a great resource for Tommy's Tomfoolery, but the reason he only barely touches on the Amico in that video is due to personal politics.

Sounds like hbomberguy lets his personal bias limit his investigations. He's entitled to doing that, but it sounds like Slopes Game Room has more objective reporting and as such, likely more fair and balanced coverage. I'll have to check our their channel!

Slopes' video is kind of the definitive intro to this circus, even 3 years later.

The reason I pointed out that Kevtris was the one who opened up the Amico was because as Slopes touches on in his documentary, Tommy got into a spat with Kevtris and insulted him cause he called Tommy out on his behavior. Though Slopes only covers the surface. Apparently, Tommy got super paranoid of Kevtris and started accusing him of things like stalking him & his wife or some BS.
