Description

DON'T FORGET TO READ THE READ ME!

I love demo disks. To me, they were one of vital pillars of gaming for people growing up in the 80s, 90s and the 00s. My favourite ones tended to be the ones on PC since not only did you get demos for games but you usually also got game patches and software as well! Some of you may have missed out on this and I am to change that this year with my demo disk project.

This is a compilation of demo disks from the company Softdisk. It includes disk #1-139 and #141 and has a ton of games, a ton of cool software and is just a fun time capsule of both gaming and PC history to check out for yourself.

I could not find Disk #140 and can't seem to find any after #141 so if there is anyone out there that can help contribute to this please PM me and if you have more demo disks from this company I will add it to the collection with a shoutout to you here for helping.

Enjoy!

This was my childhood.friends had super nes and sega I had a old pc and stacks of these discs a lot of full programs on them.

Fair enough, and I respect the sentiment. Although I feel like 140 separate disks might be a bit too much to go through just for the sake of discovery.
True. I will look into updating this then for people that may wanna read whats on it but the lists were all scattered too a bit.

There is and I was going to include it but I like the surprise of it all imo. Discovery is part of what made these so fun to go through!

Neat! Great curation, thanks. I'll probably have to check this out for some 'memberberries.

Out of curiosity, is there any kind of index or other guide to what's on the various disks?

Nice! You can rename it Demo Disk Collection 1986 and post some other years... I love the time capsule idea.

I had no idea demo collections ever came on floppies. I only knew of the CD-ROMs chock full of shareware. Thanks for sharing!
