I think console gaming in general is dying. Nowadays, there's nothing that a console offers that you can't do with a mid-range pc, and with the fact that a pc gives you more ability to tweak it and change whatever you like, I just don't see why it's economically viable to buy a console instead of a pc. But that's just my opinion.

They had a good run, Microsoft launched their first console in 2002 and then the 360 at the end of 2005 which was able to challenge the PS3, so a good 6 years competing at the top. I'd argue the downhill started already in 2013 with the Xbox One.

Similar to the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis being able to compete at the top against Nintendo from 1989 to approximately 1995, which gave them about 6 years.

I rember back the in 2012 they try and annouce full fuse of xbox and windows, but in fact, they doesnt.
Anyway in my province XBOX360 was always kind of folkish console because it was easiest to hack of 6th gen since 2007 and so we has a bunch of h\xbox360 and wannabe gamers, who played only fifa and kinect(offline and local of course).
