So Xbox is officially dead.

from the outside a pc is just too much work and effort, having to gather all the right parts and put it together . theyre also pretty pricey

Not really. That was a problem before, sure, when having a PC was something uncommon and was looked at as something only nerds/geeks did. But now, with companies having really good prebuilt PCs ready to purchase and install like your average console, there really is no reason not to buy one instead of a console, except for, of course, the price being higher. But with companies making their products more expensive (*cough *cough* Nintendo), even that excuse is slowly dying. So all in all, there just is no point, imo, to buy a console, except for I guess collecting them and stuff like that, but that's besides the point.

I can't be arsed to deal with crappy ports, horrible optimization, checking drivers, fighting nvidia's bullshit, looking into logs, juggling 3-4 clients, configuring servers and ports for friends, tweaking .inis to make resolutions work and I could go on and on and on.

I do this on my 9-5, I don't want to deal with it anymore, even if I'm a professional at it.

and still, I am the console gamer that helps my PC friends with their problems, because I can fix them.

To be fair, it's not like xbox put much of a fight in the first place; after all the mistakes that xbox committed in the last 10 years it was obvious that some powerful people at microsoft wanted xbox to die, why else would they make so many dumb decisions over and over again.

Its been for a while, the end started when corpos smelled money on the end of the 360 era and do what they do best: ruin everything.

But hey! we will get the W11 with an xbox logo and like 4 different services to subscribe to.

In this War we all lost and Xbox and Sony and Nintendo have been dead for a long time now, and instead we have greed and evil using there Names.Greed won
To be fair there was never a point where Nintendo wasn't kind of evil. Well maybe when they were making Hanafuda cars. My parents weren't even alive then so who knows?

the true reason xbox systems are not that great.
But almost every PS3 multiplat ran at lower resolution with worse framerate. Not only that, they lacked an achievement system and rumble since Sony stupidly said that rumble was a "last-gen feature" before bringing it back. 🤦‍♂️

But... How could this happen? The multibillioanries told me the subscription model a la Netflix was going to be the future of gaming! How could this ever happen?!

This, literally this. I don't want to be doing my job as a computer scientist in my down time. As little digital use in my house as possible, analog everything, no alexa, no connections between all devices, none of that shit. Smart device bullshit is banned!

Every household has a dedicated IT person as everyone else delegates IT things to them, I am he in this house.

That RTX 5070 TI and 32 gigs of RAM is so my latop doesn't scream out in agony when I am trying to develop anything extremely resource heavy on my own machine.
