Random Slide or Dash?

Do you prefer sliding like classic Mega Man

Or dashing like Mega Man X?

I prefer dash because looks cooler but slide is useful if you have to pass across narrow paths.

Dashing in X/Zero/ZX is extremely satisfying, especially when you get better at the games and are able to speedrun through them. Also, shoulder button dashing all the way (for me specifically, the L button)

meanwhile dash has never traumitized me, im sticking to dash.

Dash all day. The movement options you get in the X games are so much more satisfying to use and master than anything they did with the slide in the classic games.

I would prefer using a face button (like A or Circle) for Dash, the shoulder buttons are nice for quick weapon change though.

I find the dash great in terms of mobility, speed control, and jumping ability. But I prefer the slide as a more strategic dodge, with more weight, and for sneaking into secret areas of the levels.

I did that at first, but once I played the Zero series for the time and got used to dashing with the shoulder buttons, that instantly became more comfortable for me and I never turned back since.

Dash, just because it's the best kind of move and it's too awesome. It gives both speed and precise control besides dash jumps.

And the dash also does that in X and Zero games, many bosses have attacks that incentivize using it like a slide.
